Rep. Dan Crenshaw dings ex-Obama aide Ben Rhodes for doubting US link of Iran to tanker attack

Rep. Dan Crenshaw of Texas slammed former top Obama adviser Ben Rhodes for questioning U.S. claims that Iran attacked oil tankers near the Strait of Hormuz and downplayed the threat from the regime.

Rhodes, a leading figure within the Obama administration who pushed for the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran, suggested the U.S. official assessment of the tanker attacks shouldn’t be taken for granted, saying only an international investigation can get to the bottom of the incident.

“This definitely feels like the kind of incident where you'd want an international investigation to establish what happened. Huge risk of escalation,” Rhodes said in a tweet.

Rhodes, even if doing so is inconsistent with what he claimed in the past, will take the opposite side of any position Trump takes,

But are there warmongers in both parties who would try to push Trump into a war? Absolutely.

And what would Iran gain by attacking tankers? Maybe Russia set this in motion to see what Iran could get away with?

Maybe somebody wants oil prices to rise (although this affects the US less than the rest of the world)?

Arm the tankers with anti-aircraft guns and laser guided ship to water missles?

Thomas E. Ricks wrote a devastating piece about this way-out-of-his-league, wholly unqualified Ophonybama FRaud at https://foreignpolicy.com/2017/12/28/a-stunning-profile-of-ben-rhodes-the-asshole-who-is-the-presidents-foreign-policy-guru-4/

It is worth a read!

Here is a very brief taste: “. . . he comes off like an overweening little schmuck.”

“And you’re not really a trusted source to weigh in on Iran...

You sold the public the falsehood of a moderating Iranian regime - using your media “echo chamber” (your words)- & ignoring the true danger Iran presents in the region.”

Good for him !
I despise Rhodes.

Iran openly made threats to the US just days ago.

There's no need to make excuses for their acts with oil prices and more Russia shit.

Who cares the reason or people behind it.

IRAN DID IT.

After we were fooled about Iraqi WMDs, leading to thousands of dead US servicemen men and women, and even more amputations and brain damage, only sheeple don’t bring some skepticism when intelligence reports suggest it’s time for another war

You can be a “show me” Missouri skeptic, or you can be a sheeple. I’m the former. I’m not going to get burned again

“I hate to tell Crenshaw most of us have doubts”

Why do you hate to tell him? He needs to hear from people - Republicans, conservatives - who refuse to be burned again after the Iraq “WMD” debacle

You can believe whatever the Deep State and their media lap dogs tell you ... even if it changes from day to day.

Trump can make mistakes. He believed the Jussie Smollett false flag story to begin with

Many Freepers remember the nonexistent WMDs in Iraq, and many know people who were killed or lost legs or arms , or their mental health, in our war to preempt those “WMDs”. Trump even said it was a war based on lies

I won’t be a sheeple this time

If there were WMDs in Iraq - despite Bush and Cheney both saying there weren’t - why didn’t Saddam use them to protect his regime and his life?

If he wasn’t going to use them to keep himself alive and his family in power, they were no threat to anyone even if they did exist - which they didn’t. Certainly didn’t justify our disastrous invasion and $7 trillion down the drain

You can believe that WMDs were the only reason we went to war in Iraq. Since you won't bother to read any of those articles.

-------------------------------------------------

Reasons we went to war with Iraq.

This probably doesn't count but... the 600,000+ people Saddam had killed

No, he didn’t.

He knew Trump supporters don’t molest gays in the middle of a snowstorm in downtown Chicago while wearing Trump hats.

Get your head out.

Dont bother. They believe what they believe because they think that if they use those weapons of mass killing, as long its not us here in the USA, it doesnt matter.

They were there, ALL OVER THE GD PLACE. The problem was is that most of the weapons were either taken out of country, or left to become unstable.

If the conduct of the DOJ and the U.S. intelligence agencies over the last 3 years has taught us anything, it’s that we shouldn’t trust a single thing our government tells us about anything.
