Can’t. Too much oil. Too much world chaos at that point.

The price of gas just dropped recently. Gotta have a reason to make it go back up again.

That is the same thinking that made us support Stalin in WWII and it lead to 50 years of wars and suffering.

We can't. They pump too much oil. Any disruption can/will cause chaos, high oil prices and recession. And yes, it has happened and can happen again.
And in anticipation of your objection, oil is fungible. The world needs about 85/90 millions of barrels of oil a day. However, if the world can switch to renewable energy sources in the next 90 days, then yes, we can let Saudi Arabia fend for itself.

You get cynical about this and I’m not going to disagree.
Japan’s Prime Minister warned about an “accidental war” in recent hours between the US and Iran being a possibility.
I sure hope that isn’t in the cards.

We did not support Stalin except that our enemy’s enemy is our friend in tough times.
If Russia were not fighting Germany our losses and possibly the final outcome of the war would have been far different.
