You have a group of people who are accustomed to the good life, as in Hong Kong and Taiwan....

If you take that freedom away from them, you’ll get a very strong revolt, so much so that people will die rather than lose what they have.

China is underestimating Hong Kong. A million people? That means there’s probably another million ready to revolt.

Give people in North Korea a taste of the good like, and the two sides wil reunify.

Hong Kong is in a tight spot. Extradition treaties with say, The US and Spain are between two sovereign states. Independent separate entities. Since 1997 Hong Kong IS a part of China. “One China, two systems.” Pushing for this law is essentially breaking down that “two systems” brick by brick and losing self governing, falling completely under China’s iron fist. To not fight this, the slippery slope becomes a slippery cliff.
