If the people who make the laws don’t have to abide by them, you’re not being governed, you’re being ruled.

I hope you're referring to the top echelon who were involved in Spygate, not the majority of field agents who are dedicated and who, for the most part, despise what has happened over the past few years.

After decades in the FBI, the top brass came to believe they could flout the law and pursue their own political agendas. The FBI was founded on that attitude by J. Edgar Hoover. Nothing has changed since.

Terrific article. It would be a good one to send to any uninformed open-minded people you know.

If it is time for a shutdown or a serious alteration of the FBI to bring it back under control we are going to have to ensure that we don't replace it with something worse, because a very large number of like-minded people are going to see it as an opportunity for just that. Hanson provides the usual disclaimer at the end of the article about the purported rectitude of the "rank and file" but to be perfectly candid I don't see any protestations, mass resignations, or other signs that anything of the sort is the case. Hanson is, in short, according them an "innocent until proven guilty" benefit that has been notably absent on the part of the FBI in nearly all of the case he cites. He, and we, can do no other, but it's galling to see how easily that is taken advantage of. For example:
Muellers team also deliberately edited a phone message from Trump counsel John Dowd to Robert Kelner, General Michael Flynns lawyer, to make it appear incriminating and possibly unethical or illegal. Only after a federal judge ordered the full release of the transcript did the public learn the extent of Muellers selective and misleading cut-and-paste of Dowds message.
So, the pattern: falsify, leak, publish, watch as the damage is done, then deny and walk away. None of this train of corruption would be possible without the knowing participation of media whose editors and celebrities profit from the scam, both passively by sneak-thievery and hitting from behind and actively by openly bribing their sources. Nice, tidy little system, and utterly corrupt.
Thanks so much for your support to this point... I personally apprecaite it...

I believe the Clintons started this corruption of the FBI. Based on their performance in other areas, it’s safe to say that the Clintons made sure people were hired and promoted based on their alignment with the elites. People who spoke up in opposition were driven out of the organization. I doubt that anything was done to reverse this during George W. Bush’s administration.
And then along came Obama, who made the Clintons look like pikers. Thus, for 24 years, the ranks of the FBI have been filled, top to bottom, with people aligned with the Clintons and Obamas, and more than willing to take whatever illegal actions were necessary to maintain control of the government, no matter who was in the White House.
I keep hearing that the rank and file in the FBI are honest people trying to enforce the law and are not part of this criminal activity. If so, how did they survive these 24 years of hiring, firing, promoting based on willingness to break the laws of the land?

There are a small number of Hillary supporters I am willing to interact with who held clearances. Every single one of them admits that they would have been “in Leavenworth” or somewhere equivalent if they had done what we all know (from Hillary supporter Jim Comey’s statements) Hillary did. They also think it’s different because America needs her to keep us on that path. That disgusts me. If you hear me chanting “lock her up!” it’s because that’s what would have happened to me, and I believe in the rule of law.
Note: Those on the anti-American side who count on that inclination are under a false assumption that decent Americans will always be constrained by the rule of law. The fact is that if they cross any of the lines they have toed up to, including but not limited to further infringements on the First and Second Amendments, all bets are off.

Not all of the fbi, but it is way more than sean hannity and his teeny weeny just a few fbi agents.
There is corruption through out the entire fbi organization, and those that don't actively participate, standby and remain silent, pretending that they see nothing.
I think transferring the role of the fbi to the US Marshals, and making all fbi agents undergo lie detector tests, and other forms of interrogation before they can transfer would be appropriate.

This started in the Clinton years with 'the vast right wing conspiracy' an idea pushed by thugs (communists?) that was part of a plan waaaaay beyond the ability of the FBI to come up with... The FBI went out and taught the 'vast right wing' 'lie' to top cops around the country with help from the SPLC in '97 and '98...
If Hillary hadn't' spilled the beans' about the fake VRWC (meaning she was NOT in on the original conspiracy) we might be a totalitarian state today.
Thank God she couldn't keep her mouth shut - that allowed people to rightly mock what was being sold. It gave us a few years.
VICTOR DAVIS HANSON is putting the pieces together... he knows what the FBI and press are portraying doesn't make sense - that it's not consistent with the way human nature works. He's on the right track... finding the people who created the FBI culture - and the ideas that justified it - IS the challenge of our time. And we don't have a lot of time to expose these traitors...
