Well, the Roman Catholic branch of Christendom is going to have to do its own internal housekeeping. However, its witness might not be so stellar according to this:

The claim that Tobin was addressing a younger sister appears to be plausible after all. In cases of legitimate fog like this, it’s a bad witness to the world and to Christendom to disobey the bible directions on not fretting when “evil men get their way.” One will not be able to tell the difference between poison darts of erroneous accusations and accurate fingers of correct rebukes.
The answer for the church lies not in lucking out with an accusation, but with making Christ first in as much as it can.
Which why I was taught in college that these people are mentally ill.
