I live within 10 blocks and smelled the smoke and heard the sirens. Didn't know what it was until awhile later. Pilot saved lives by landing on the roof as he did, although it was his only hope of possibly landing safely and surviving himself.
"The site of the accident, the AXA Equitable Center, is an office tower that is more than 750-feet tall. It was built in 1985"
