A Harris poll for "Axios on HBO" finds that socialism is gaining popularity: 4 in 10 Americans say they would prefer living in a socialist country over a capitalist one.
Why it matters: Socialism is losing its Soviet-era stigma, especially among women. Popular Democratic socialists like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders are bringing new life and meaning to the term.
55% of women between 18 and 54 would prefer to live in a socialist country than a capitalist country.
But a majority of men prefer to live in a capitalist country.
The big picture: "It's been a truth of American politics for decades that women are to the left of men, and I think that's playing out in this poll," Axios' Felix Salmon noted on "Axios on HBO."
Between the lines: As the Harris poll results below show, the public has varying levels of agreement on what exactly constitutes a socialist political system.
Universal healthcare: 76%
Tuition free education: 72%
Living wage: 68%
State-controlled economy: 66%
State control and regulation of private property : 61% High taxes for the rich: 60%
State-controlled media and communication: 57%
Strong environmental regulations: 56%
High public spending: 55%
Government democratizes private businesses that is, gives workers control over them to the greatest extent possible: 52%
System dependent on dictatorship: 49%
Workers own and control their places of employment: 48% Democratically-elected government: 46%
Not surprising. Most women have a herd mentality.
Just sayin.
Heard at a socialist (e.g., Democrat) rally:
“What do we want?”
“Less freedom!”
“When do we want it?”
“Now!”
Well, they already have half of the above.
Harris/Axios/HBO — Can’t possibly be any bias there...
Well, my wife already practically takes everything I have already, so... yea.
repeal the 19TH ... solve numerous problems simultaneously ...
Really? Ha ha ha go away.
Useful idotettes.
Whats puzzling is the question: why dont those folks who favor living in a socialist country vs a capitalist country just pack up and move to a socialist country?
They even use the loo in groups.
I hear those cute photo sharing apps coming out in CUBA are great..!
Oh, and the makeup is great, too.
Women are naturally dependent. If it is not dependent on their husband, then it is on the state. This is not a criticism of women. This is how they were created and meant to be. Men and women are different and are meant to compliment one another. The traditional roles of men and women exist for a reason.
Jack Nicholson quote from “As Good As It Gets”:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0g9_wfkYjfo
Secretary: “How do you write women so well?”
Jack: “I think of a Man........And Take away REASON & ACCOUNTABILITY !”
Too many women have the mentality of wanting the freedom to make their own decisions, while demanding that some man be required to have the job of saving them from their bad decisions.
They just don’t teach social(ist) studies like they used to...
“55% of women between 18 and 54 would prefer to live in a socialist country than a capitalist country.

Men want to provide. Women want to be provided for. Sounds normal, but people seeking power want to substitute government for the traditional men’s role, and some of the weaker, swishy males (not men) and the lazy support it as well.
Politically incorrect, but true. We need to return to a traditional understanding of men and women, and the roles they play in society and the family.
My wife is an even bigger supporter of Trump than l am. That said, if women didn’t vote we would be rid of the scourge of Rat office holders. It’s just a fact. I won’t speculate why.
And there was overwhelming support among women for the 18th Amendment way back when. Such support did not make something like that right either.
Axios is Politico. Why believe them?
