Who would have guessed that the theoretical Buridan's jackass, popularized by the 14th-century French philosopher, would correctly predict the behavior of the different kind of jackasses namely, the Democratic Party of the United States? The proverbial equally hungry and thirsty donkey was positioned precisely midway between a pile of hay and a pail of water. Our poor hypothetical jackass died because it could not make a rational decision about its priorities.
Does this sound familiar?
Democrats are eager to impeach president Trump, yet at the same time, they are eager to avoid such impeachment. They cannot make a rational decision on how to proceed, because they have painted themselves into a corner on the issue. They bombarded the country with various hoaxes for years, telling Americans that Trump is Russia's asset. If they start the impeachment proceedings against Trump, independents will abandon Democrats (independents will not tolerate the prosecution of innocent men), and they will lose the 2020 elections. If Democrats put brakes the impeachment plans, their brainwashed base will abandon them; the Democrats will still lose the 2020 elections, just as Buridan's jackass died between two choices.
...
According to the U.S. Constitution, impeachment proceedings are political, not judicial matters and can be done against a sitting official to remove him from elected office or against a non-sitting previously elected official to prevent him from occupying an office in the future. Democrats have a majority in the House, and it gives them an exceptional opportunity to distance themselves from the dirty past and the socialist present as well.
All they have to do is to impeach Barack Hussein Obama. Most likely, Republicans in Congress will lend them a hand to save their political archrivals from themselves.

Nice reference to the 14th Century.
Because they don’t know what to impeach for.
“Because they dont know what to impeach for.”

Part 1:
I have a degree in Political Science, and I am a card-carrying Libertarian. Ive been studying politics and political history for the past 30 years. My specialty is U.S. Presidents. That said, I hope that the House of Representatives impeaches Trump. Let me tell you what will happen next.
1. The House can pass articles of impeachment over the objections of the Republicans, and refer to the Senate for trial.
2. The Senate will conduct a trial. There will be a vote, and the Republicans will vote unanimously, along with a small number of Democrats, to not convict the President. Legally, it will all be over at that point.
3. However, during the trial, and this is what no one is thinking about right now, the Presidents attorneys will have the right to subpoena and question ANYONE THAT THEY WANT. That is different that the special counsel investigation, which was very one-sided.
So, during the impeachment trial, we will be hearing testimony from James Comey, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, Bruce Ohr, Glenn Simpson, Donna Brazille, Eric Holder, Loretta Lynch, Christopher Steele, Hillary Clinton, John Brennan, James Clapper, and a whole host of other participants in this whole sordid affair and the ensuing coverup activities. A lot of dirt will be dug up; a lot of truth will be unveiled.
Finger pointing will occur.
Deals will start being made, and suddenly, a lot of democrats will start being charged and going to prison. All this, because, remember, the Presidents team will now, for the first time, have the RIGHT to question all of these people under oath - and they will turn on each other. Thats already starting.
4. Lastly, one more thing will happen the Senate will not convict the President. Nothing will happen to Trump. Most Americans are clueless about political processes, the law, and the Constitution. Most Americans believe that being impeached results in removal from office.
They dont understand that phase 2 is a trial in and by the Senate, where he has zero chance of conviction. Remember, the Senate is controlled by Republicans; they will determine what testimony is allowed and **everything** will be allowed, including: DNC collusion with the Clinton campaign to fix the election in favor of Hillary, the creation of the Trump dossier, the cover up and destruction of emails that very likely included incriminating information.
Theyll incriminate each other for lying to the FISA court, for spying and wiretapping the Trump campaign, and for colluding with foreign political actors, especially George Soros. After the Senate declines to convict the President, we will have an election, and Trump will win.
It will be a backlash against democrat petulance, temper tantrums, hypocrisy and dishonesty. Even minorities will vote for Trump, because, for the first time, they will see that democrats have spent 2+ years focused on maintaining their own power, and not doing anything at all about black murders in Chicago, homelessness, opioids, and other important issues that are actually killing people.
And, we will spend the following four years listening to politicians and pundits claim that the whole impeachment was rigged somehow.
Because there is absolutely no basis for it.
ope you’re right!
I wonder if the usually weak-kneed , fragmented and passive GOP will forego the investigation and subpoena service on the wonderful list of guilty coup participants you gave us.
If Hillary and the Comey,McCabe and Brennan types get away with it all again like the Clintons in the 1990s I don’t think I can’t stand it again.
People will say “Trump? He’s the one they impeached, right? In school they said he was guilty but got away with it. At least he brought in 20 years of Dem-Socialist presidents, though.”
God forbid.
“Hope you’re right”
Interesting. Thanks!
Bring. It. On.
Splen-did!
because they hate PDJT and our representative system of governance.. they want to seize total and complete control ASAP...
BUT they realize that they have ZERO evidence of any impeachable offenses..........AND THAT THE VOTERS mostly know, realize this fact
indeed, they don’t even have a chargeable jaywalking offense against him, ha!
in short, it would cost the D party SERIOUSLY if they tried to screw around any further with all their “impeachment BS”
Nancy Pelosi’s position is No Impeachment, which she can achieve by simply refusing to resolve the issue, as she’s been doing. The Democratic presidential race will soon heat up, taking over the news, and most Democratic House members will soon be leaving for their summer vacations.
In a month will anyone still remember who Jerrold Nadler is?
Not even the fat oaf nadler will know who he is.
If there is ever an impeachment inquiry Im not even sure if dems are aware how much power the Republicans have to call witnesses
it would be a complete another disaster for them
I think Pelosi knows it to you as well as some of the more mature Democrats
The few clear thinking Progressives still have been unable to find a high crime or misdemeanor on which to base an impeachment effort. They’ll keep looking, though, and probably end up inventing one.
