Agreed.
Same with trophy hunters who want a head to hang in the den, & leave the rest of the carcass to rot.
God gave us dominion over the earth, at the top of the food chain, but He commands us to be good stewards of nature.

Who leaves anything to rot? Grizzly hunters, maybe? I think cougar is the only thing you’re allowed to leave in the field in Oregon, and I have it on good authority that it is delicious.

I think Alaska requires that all meat be packed out before the head can be removed from the field. You could be killed going back for it. Better to take everything at once.
