What about amending the 2nd Amendment?

The Bill of Rights was added to the Constitution to prevent government infringement on our natural rights as Americans. It was designed to prevent government the ability to bestow and therefore rescind the rights of the individual.

To that, there was an interesting and thought-provoking article in the Washington Post recently. I’m not sure I’ve ever uttered those words in the same sentence: thought-provoking and Washington Post.

The WaPo author gives every appearance of being a reasoned thinker until this:

“A revised Second Amendment could spell out the relationship between public safety and private rights in more detail. It could give clear safeguards for people with no history of legal trouble or mental instability to continue to own guns while giving more authority to the government to guarantee that only people unlikely to misuse guns would have them.”

Uh, excuse me mx. wapo author. How about NO! How about we amend the 1st amendment to make it easier to take action against lying to the public by using the main stream media and causing divisiveness and physical damage? You may not care for that idea. Too bad. Fidiots!

Uh... Why?

And it would never be ratified. Colossal waste of time.

How about adding, “SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED MEANS SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED!!”

Lefties can find a right to murder unborn babies that isn’t there as it is.

Amendment is a long, arduous process.

They’ll want to be exempt from it.

The Supreme Court needs to outline that strict scrutiny applies to government regulations that impact the 2nd Amendment. They have the opportunity to do so with the NYSPA case in October.

The lower courts, packed with Obama Judges, have ignored the Second Amendment AND Heller and have developed a “two-step” test that basically allows the government to do whatever it wants, short of an outright ban in the home.

IOW, Heller has no teeth.

Don’t f*ck with the constitution. It was composed by brighter lights than exist today.

Absolutely NOT.

The 2nd amemmendment was put there for a reason.

The Dems just want to chip away at it slowly, because people are resisting them pointing at it, when they try to take our guns away.

WaPo just wants Red Flag confiscations enshrined in the Constitution (which they don’t really believe in, anyway).

That’s all they want. Well, good luck with that, lefties. Those dead white male slaveowners who wrote it also made the Constitution extremely difficult to amend.

Nothing left but a palace coup. Oh....they tried that already.

And how about outlawing the “Secret” FISA courts while we’re at it. I don’t give a fig about making it “easier track foreign criminals” when in so doing, we create a path for the government to secretly abuse our citizens. There should be NOTHING SECRET about law enforcement, NOTHING! What has happened to President Trump is noting short of a government coup, abetted by the FISA Court. And while we are prosecuting the people involved for Treason, we should not leave out the FISA judges. They need to be hanged along with Brennan, Comey, & Crapper, et al!

Don't worry if there's ever a convention of states that will be Item #1

Item #2 will be the first amendment.

#3? Thank you all very much. We've accomplished our goal here.
Meeting adjourned.

It is pretty amazing when you think about it. The whole country had a population of less than 4,000,000, yet produced so many brilliant political minds. Contrast that with, say California with 9x the population which has gifted us such greats as Jerry Brown, Dianne Feinstein, Nancy Pelosi, Kamela Harris...

Not sure if it’s “do not understand” or “will not understand” but they have a problem with the the phrase “shall not be infringed.”
