Nothing about the Democratic National Committees approach to organizing debates featuring the several dozen contenders for the partys 2020 presidential nomination inspires confidence. But something about the partys approach should inspire fury.
The DNC is refusing to organize a debate on climate change, and it is clinging to rules that could effectively block candidates from participating in independent debates on the issue.
This is morally wrong and practically foolish.
**SNIP**
DNC officials say they are interested in climate change. But this decision reinforces a concern, well expressed by former New York Times environmental writer Justin Gillis, that while Democrats were nominally on the right side about climate change, they never put much fight into it.

Oh, I plan to watch this train wreck.
But they dont actually want a real debate, do they. The writer should stop pretending and just admit the truth. The rules of the game expressly forbid anything even remotely resembling a debate.

They’ve also been using the same 12 years til the end of the world threat for decades.
From 1989: UNITED NATIONS (AP) _ A senior U.N. environmental official says entire nations could be wiped off the face of the Earth by rising sea levels if the global warming trend is not reversed by the year 2000.

11.58 years. LOL. I’m so glad that someone is counting down on AOC’s 12 years. This will be fun to watch.
I calculate it to be Thursday, January 2, 2031 . . . I should be room temperature by then
Can someone start showing the days, weeks, months and years left?
It’s kinda close and I want too make sure i don’t have any appointments the last month of life on earth.
Shouldn’t that be 11.57 years now? It’s been about a month since 11.58 was proclaimed.
Alright, here’s the deal. At first, I was just taking a wild guess at the decimal point as a gag. But since there’s an official countdown clock doing the work for me, it should be a bit more accurate in what little future we all have left.
The start date on that goofball’s weather prediction is around January 19 - give or take a few days. (Hey, we’re talking about doomsday here. Will a few extra hours here or there really matter?) The clock, which expires on January 1st, has 4224 days left on it. I’ll add another 19. After doing the hard math, that leaves only 11.6167 years remaining. I wasn’t that far off after all! I’ll have to round up or down because of title space.
I hope all of this confusion didn’t throw off anyone’s doomsday plans.
