(AP) The University of Alabama board of trustees voted Friday to give back a $26.5 million donation to a top donor who recently called on students to boycott the school over the state's new abortion ban.
Hugh F. Culverhouse Jr., a 70-year-old real estate investor and lawyer, has already given $21.5 million to the university after his pledge last September with the rest still to come. But in a news release last week, he urged students to participate in a boycott of the school.

I think so too.
When I heard they were selling baby parts and laughing about it...
It reminded me of other times when genocidal people went berserk.
Frankly I was shocked at how little these folks were called on the carpet for it.
Bear Bryant Junior will replace this $26 M out of petty cash from Bryant Bank next week. No biggie.
The Democrat craves a mutilated baby.
As an Auburn grad it pains me to say this, but well done Alabama.
Well done Bama.
Nobody on earth hates Bama more than me but- ROLL TIDE on this one!
And Geaux Tigers!
hah hah! I’m just thinking about the paper work and tax issues the guy is going to go thru when he gets the donation money back. Just indulging in a bit of paltry spite....it won’t hurt that guy too much I’m sure.
That’s principle. You don’t see it that much anymore.
Since abortion is their religious sacrament, it's like they are being denied their religion.
I NEVER Thought I’d say this, but
ROLL DAMN TIDE
Stick it, Culverhouse, you POS
Roll Tide and may Hugh Culverson Jr. rot in hell!
His dad was a good guy. Junior is a POS.
Gotcha.
Don’t know all the players and am not an inside Bama guy. I just go to their website on occasions to retrieve real estate sales data.
Class act by the University of Alabama. ROLL TIDE!
Done and done!
Same here: GO DAWGS!!! The real DAWGS, not MSU mutts.
What s jackass!!!
He first gives a “gift” with strings attached and then tries to punish the kids who attend the university, some who probably aren’t even Alabama voters.
And then he says abortion “is the law”, as though that makes it right.
‘’Bama did the right thing!
No problem. I have been a Bama fan my entire life and I just learned the details about this story a week or so ago.
That is the law school. Just checked myself against the business school website and it still bears the Culverhouse name.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees is Fess St. John. He is my age, from my small home town and our sons played summer baseball together a time or two many years ago. Fess is a local attorney, which may explain the quick law school name change, but I just don’t know the real inside scoop on that. Fess is always cordial when I see him around town, but we have never spoken a single word to each other about University business and circumstances. I do know Fess to be a good guy.
