Under a new agreement, uniformed police officers will be allowed to participate in Sacramento PRIDE events this weekend, and a new set of police department policies will be enacted to build trust with the LGBTQ community.
The move, announced in a Thursday news release by the Sacramento Police Department and Sacramento LGBT Community Center, reversed a decision the center announced last week that uniformed officers would not be allowed to participate in order to protect LGBTQ people, especially transgender people and LGBTQ people of color who “experience fear and anxiety provoked by the uniform.”

The police and military have already been fully co-opted in countries like the UK.

AND... MLB has ‘day’ for everything and I ‘sort of like’ it as it gives me a TRUE reason to not attend games where there is a helluva lot more going on than baseball at the local stadium.
Between the ‘obnoxious’ big headed ‘mascots’ that manage to be able to block the view, to clowns throwing peanuts and other articles into the stands to ‘races’ between games why would they even expect me to endure

‘Whatever’ college night..if I didn’t go to that college, I would feel like I were intruding in ‘YOUR’ night.
Then this alphabet soup night....where a ‘rainbow’ Tshirt is presented to the first.....If someone were to foist such an article of clothing on me I would probably get thrown out of the stadium for my remarks...
NATURALLY, the ??????? would say they have a ‘right’ to pass out the shirt while I don’t HAVE to attend the game that night.
Then again, if I don’t attend the game I am tagged a homophobe or whatever because maybe I don’t want to ‘mingle’ with people who are wont to exhibit their depravity - much as they do in the’parades’ they are ‘invited’ to participate in.
Would love to see baseball have a ‘BASEBALL’ night, devoted to hot dogs and beer, no roving bands of ??? passing out goodies, no racing presidents/beer can/condiment bottles...etc etc etc
Or how about a ‘concealed carry’ night?
Most of the cops that are assigned to game night to ‘protect’ the suburbanites from the urbanites could have a day off.
Brings more meaning to the old ‘An armed society is a friendly society’ especially when those up to no good have a pretty good idea that one they are about to set upon may very well pull something out and send them to the ‘promised land’.
