Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) threw his support behind Stephen Crowder on Thursday, calling YouTube decision's to no longer permit the conservative commentator, who has been accused of online harassment, to profit from his videos "ridiculous."
"YouTube is not the Star Chamber stop playing God & silencing those voices you disagree with. This will not end well," wrote Cruz to his 3.3 million followers.
In a subsequent tweet, Cruz broached provocative comments made by TBS's Samantha Bee and actor Jim Carrey as examples of what he says is a double standard.
"This is nuts. YouTube needs to explain why @scrowder is banned, but @iamsambee (Ivanka is a feckless c***.) & @JimCarrey (look at my pretty picture of Gov. Kay Ivey being murdered in the womb) arent. No coherent standard explains it. Heres an idea: DONT BLACKLIST ANYBODY," he wrote.
"Update on our continued reviewwe have suspended this channels monetization," YouTube said in the tweet on Wednesday announcing Crowder will not be able to make money from ad revenue on his videos. "We came to this decision because a pattern of egregious actions has harmed the broader community and is against our YouTube Partner Program policies."
The announcement came one day after the company stated he wasn't in violation of any of its rules.
Social media analytics website Social Blade estimates Crowder could have been generating as much $1.29 million annually from his YouTube channel.
Cruz has appeared on Crowder's Blaze Media program, "Louder with Crowder," most recently in Nov. 2018.
“No coherent standard explains it.”
Left good, right evil. That’s coherent.
Crowder Ping.
From the article:
“The announcement came one day after the company stated he wasn’t in violation of any of its rules.”
This like the Mueller fiasco. No evidence of collusion, but the Democrats want to nail Trump for Obstruction of an investigation into a crime that he did not commit.
Platform or publisher? I hope there are more bannings so this will come to a head.
The usual lunatic liberal tactic is at work here. First, try to silence anyone opposing them.
When that fails, the final solution is to destroy the opposition by all means available.
Another example why liberals should not be in any position of power over anyone.

I’ve been on the fence about joining Crowder’s Mug Club...
After YT’s decision to de-monetize him, my decision is settled....
So then Cruz must be right objecting to Trumps tariffs. /s
Absolutely - social media platforms may rightly be required to honestly state their posting and other criteria up front.
Nothing more.
Fine.
It would be nice if Senator Cruz would throw his support behind President Trump, who is trying to deal with a situation that Cruz and his Republican colleagues in Congress created and have failed to deal with.
YouTube is also a private company and can set their own standards. Unless they are violating any anti-discrimination laws they can ban who the want.
You may not be able to. Crowder’s online merchant for his mugs just yanked his merchandise and will no longer deal with him.

Its called Weaponizing Social Media...
The site is still up and taking orders....
I wonder if some asymmetrical warfare might work here.
I.e. we all go through say David Hoggs twitter and flag anything questionable as abuse, try and get him suspended/thrown off.
Even if they dont itll further the argument.
If it came to that Youtube would state: “Democrats - good. Orange Man - Bad!”
And that would be their standard the moment you come to Youtube for the first time.
[The site is still up and taking orders....]
Actually, looks like mug club orders are going through The Blaze.
Me Too!
