Republican senators sent the White House a sharp message on Tuesday, warning that they were opposed to President Trumps plans to impose tariffs on Mexican imports, just hours after the president said lawmakers would be foolish to try to stop him.
...
I want you to take a message back to the White House, Senator Ted Cruz, Republican of Texas, told the attorneys, according to people familiar with the meeting. You didnt hear a single yes from the Republican conference. He called the proposed tariffs a $30 billion tax hike on Texans.

The drug cartels called, they said to thank you guys for your support.
No stones. As usual.
You didnt hear a single yes from the Republican conference.

The party of ‘no’ strikes again. What a bunch of scoundrels.
How many billions has illegal immigration cost Texans, Senator?
The drug cartels called, they said to thank you guys for your support.

They didn’t have to call. They could just reach down and pat them on the butt... as they finished off with them.
Senate Republicans warn ... Scary.
No stones. As usual.

Yes, situation normal for the GOP. If the Republicans ever stood up and did the things their voters want it would be absolutely shocking.
The U.S. Senate is the most corrupt institution in the history of the country.
And it isn’t because of only the Democrat members.
A 30k Mother of All Caravans headed to the southern U.S. border. ...
On top of a opervious caravan of 1,000 Haitians and Africans with some from the far East and India mixed in.
Followed now by a 2,500 strong caravan of more Haitians and Africans in Chiapas/Tapachula, Mexico, heading north to the southern U.S. border.
“previous.”
Sorry ‘bout that, but whenever I see something from the NYSlime that includes the phrase “according to people familiar with the meeting”, I have to insist on considering it as utter BS until verified by a genuine news source.
...no, the Slime ain’t been in that select circle for me for over 50 years now.
Do these idiots know that the electorate hates them? They’re so obviously corrupt.
Did the good Senate Republicans ever warn Obama?
Tariffs on Mexico, Bad for Americans
Tariffs on America, Bad for Americans
They speak with forked tongue.
To think I preferred Cruz over Trump.
They want the illegals. Have you ever seen more pathetic traitorous behavior at the start of a negotiation.
I’m from Texas, and I think that Cruz is an idiot on this issue.
Yes, in the normal course of things, tariffs are bad things because they are taxes and interfere with commerce.
However, in this case the threat of tariffs is a measure designed to grab the Mexican government by the balls so that they actually pay attention to our desire to get them to stop giving safe passage of Central Americans to our border. Trump doesn’t want the tariffs, but he wants to stop the utter flood of illegal immigrants even more than that. In this, I utterly agree with him.
We’ve tried every other means of grabbing Mexico’s attention on this issue short of digging up Blackjack Pershing and having him and half the Army go into Mexico. Trump is the only guy willing to negotiate from a position of strength, and I LIKE IT!
Phuck Cruz, even though I voted for the guy. Ted, YOU ARE WRONG on this issue.
To think I preferred Cruz over Trump.
I held Cruz in high esteem. What a disappointment his race was and also, of course, this is extremely disappointing.
So sad.
“whenever I see something from the NYSlime that includes the phrase according to people familiar with the meeting, I have to insist on considering it as utter BS “
Yep.
