Congressional Republicans have begun discussing whether they may have to vote to block President Trumps planned new tariffs on Mexico, potentially igniting a second standoff this year over Trumps use of executive powers to circumvent Congress, people familiar with the talks said.
The vote, which would be the GOPs most dramatic act of defiance since Trump took office, could also have the effect of blocking billions of dollars in border wall funding that the president had announced in February when he declared a national emergency at the southern border, said the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the talks are private.
Trumps plans to impose tariffs on Mexico with which the United States has a free-trade agreement rely on the presidents declaration of a national emergency at the border. But the law gives Congress the right to override the national emergency determination by passing a resolution of disapproval.

No it's not. Trade was non existent/ non factor in the US economy until the 1950's.
Marx was a Free Traitor too. You have good company.
A Yankee Clipper, ruler of the world seas.
It's the same old crap.
They want the cheap labor, but they socialize the losses of that cheap labor: welfare costs, healthcare costs, crime, drugs, educational costs, and it goes on and on.
That lettuce in your salad is waaay more expensive that you think.
If this article is not Fake News, then congressional representatives are forcing all the costs down our throats while they and their Big Ag friends reap the profits.
The hangings cannot come soon enough.
Sit down and shut up, you worthless, useless morons.
Can’t wait to watch this insufferable party cease to exist after Trump.
Dave Janda puts it more like at 1/3 who have been outright leveraged to the deep state, typically through compromising photographs.
Trade was insignificant part of GDP except for the hated south. Those ships carried mail and passengers for the most part. In 1930 trade was less the 2% of the total US economy.
It’s like you said,KavMan:
THE THREATS ARE WORKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What’s wrong with our spineless Republicans??????
Hmmm .. shouldn’t Coulter be putting them on blast?
no doubt this is part of WaPo’s wish list.
Same old story for conservatives: while youre fighting the Dims in front of you, the Repukes behind you are stabbing you in the back.

When I just click on the link, it takes me right to the article, sorry and I don’t know why you are having a problem.
It is a fairly long article, I tried, but couldn’t find any names for you about who these traitor Republicans are.
Try foxnews:
Good grief, that dipshit Karl Rove on FNC now, whining about profit margins on cheap exports from Mexico.
Cry me a river for any dirtbag company that loses money because they’ve moved their production to Mexico. THEY SHOULD HAVE KEPT THEIR BUSINESS HERE.
Come back for a primary as needed. I do it online. When its over, go back to non-affiliated.
Parody video of democrats UNTIL...11:12 minutes when a town hall audience member utterly demolishes Republican Justin Amash of Michigans 3rd district.
He is a total embarrassment and is nothing but a professional politician, in the game for himself...
He will never get our vote..He doesn't come up for election again until 2022.. The entire Republican Party is disgusting. If democrats reclaim the WH in 2020, the Republican Party will be no more entirely...jmo.
