The public knows that the FBI relied extensively on the Democratic Party-financed dossier, whose list of anti-Trump allegations influenced the bureau’s overall attitude toward the candidate and eventual president.
Now, Attorney General William Barr has made it clear he wants to know more: Just how far did the discredited dossier take the FBI into the depths of a nearly three-year Trump investigation?
“What were the standards that were applied? What was the evidence?” Mr. Barr told CBS News, adding that his focus is not on the rank-and-file but on senior FBI leaders.
Dossier writer Christopher Steele, a former British intelligence officer, was a trusted FBI paid informant before Trump-Russia. He pitched his dossier to the FBI in these terms: Donald Trump was a Russia spy, co-conspirator and financier of computer hacking. In other words, a traitor and a criminal.
“Christopher Steele influenced their attitudes,” Rep. Jim Jordan, Ohio Republican, told The Washington Times. “Remember, they had a relationship with Steele. Steele was former MI6. So Steele probably biased them in some way because they had worked with Steele previously.”
Special counsel Robert Mueller’s report on an investigation that found no conspiracy effectively destroyed the dossier.
The dossier’s impact inside FBI headquarters is a topic of investigation by John Durham, the U.S. attorney for Connecticut. Mr. Barr has assigned him the special job of finding out how and why the FBI targeted the Trump campaign — which means a focus on the dossier.
“These counterintelligence activities that were directed at the Trump campaign were not done in the normal course and not through the normal procedures, as far as I can tell,” Mr. Barr said Friday.

When dealing with the left their thoughts are evidence is not necessary. The seriousness of the charge demands no evidence but does demand incarceration
I suspect that we can sadly count upon FBI Director Christopher Wray obstructing as much as he can get away with.
Barr is one of the “good guys” but Wray definitely is NOT!

She was a regular employee and had no protection of her identity. Yet, a big investigation went on for two years over a non-existent crime. The prosecutor, Fitzpatrick, had an old grudge against Scooter Libby and used the fake investigation to take him out.
The difference is that W sat back like a wuss and let it roll. They thought that Trump would do the same.

Also, Judge Rudolph Contreras was appointed by Obama to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA) court in 2016. Every single judge on the FISA Court as of March 2017 was appointed during Obama’s Presidency.
John Roberts has been in his role since 2005 and therefore he has appointed all the judges to the FISA court. Judge Roberts is famous for supporting Obamacare in two radical positions, one of which Justice Antonin Scalia, in his withering dissent, refered to as “applesauce”.
Knowing this, it is concerning that Judge Roberts also is responsible for the makeup of the current FISA court.
In December 2018 it was reported that Judge Contreras is also a friend of fired corrupt FBI Agent Peter Strzok. Text messages were uncovered showing Strzok’s relationship with the judge.
The FBI helped create it, why woudn’t they rely on it??
I couldn’t agree more and in everything I’ve read the FISA judges have said next to nothing about this fiasco.

Roberts needs to be held accountable.
This will let the guilty parties know what he's looking for, what his approach will be and give them plenty of additional time to get their stories straight, destroy evidence and create a cover.
No freaking way we're going to get the whole, unvarnished truth about this, and all we're going to hear is: "We fixed it so this will never happen again!"
I’m sure the FBI knew about the dossier before it was a complete dossier.
