Sen. Mitt Romney warned Friday that President Donald Trump’s proposed tariffs against Mexico were the wrong approach and could harm Americans more than they help curtail illegal immigration.
“A tariff targeting Mexico that negatively impacts our own interests will only end in a waiting game of increasingly harmful consequence to the American people,” Romney said.

This is why the Constitution proscribes that only natural born citizens may qualify for the Presidency. Mexicans with un-American loyalties like mittens don’t qualify.

Do you plan to apologize if you are proven wrong, Mr. Romney? You could promise to resign in disgrace. Are there consequences for people who are often wrong and counter productive?
No, but maybe as the price goes up from there enough pissed-off consumers will start lobbying their congress-critters to get off their dead butts and actually solve the illegal immigration problem. Of course the enemedia are already spinning it the Romney way. Maybe if Mexico isn't as desirable as a cheap labor haven for American businesses they'll stay home and hire American workers.

Avocada? Tekillya? Joking aside, there are many products/parts that American manufactures buy from Mexico, mostly from American manufacturers who went to Mexico for cheaper labor. So we pay a little more for a short time and Mexico feels the pain of tariffs. I'll pay some extra to help put the stop on Mexico assisting massive caravan invasions from Central America. No, I'm not rich.
As for China, they have become a rich totalitarian regime because of their unfair trade practices. When's the last time you bought some clothing not Made in China or their client states? They decimated our textile industry due to their slave labor and cheap prices. They are now a world power because of that, not to mention their hacking and copying our technology.
