You have to clean and lube after you use them. Don’t store blued guns in leather. Stuff like that,
You could conceivably wear one out, but that would be a boatload of shooting for most calibers.
I have a S&W revolver that belonged to my grandfather. When he died my dad got it. I got it a few years ago (dad is fine, thanks) and it is in excellent condition. Very accurate too.

I would assume people that really love firearms would do what was needed to maintain them in an appropriate manner.
