If they are not farming it and getting money from the government, that is a problem of government and subsidies, not a problem of ownership.
Or would you be fine with it if an American owned it and was getting the subsidies not to produce?
Definitely prefer American ownership of everything from businesses, stores, farms. That way profits are likely to stay in the country. And I always preferred working for American bosses.
