Gowdy is clearly all hat and no cattle on this stuff, but Nunes is for real.

I assume they have worse stuff to blackmail him on than they have for Nunes.

Definitely, no doubt, but I personally wouldn’t hold anyone accountable for doubting that anything will happen.

That’s been the way of things the entire time, and it would be very surprising to see thing break away from that trend. I am hoping and praying that occurs, however.

Americans deserve justice, Mr. Barr, and you are the only one who can bring it.

First, you have no clue whether the lack of prosecution was reliant on complete cooperation and information given on far more important issues.

Second, you have no clue whether the lack of prosecution on THAT issue only means that a far more serious prosecution in the offing.

One can’t mindlessly assume from a given singular event that one understands all the machinations in their entirety.
I prefer to wait for things to play out rather than foolishly leap to judgment only to be proven wrong.

Of course I don’t understand everything. None of us does. But even Joe D., a big Barr booster, admits that Huber, like Sessions and Rosenstein and Wray, are all Deep State nothingburgers.

So far, also, Barr is playing out precisely as Rick Wiles’s source had described it.

This place is waving the white flag lately! Sad.

Trump is a one man show. Can’t get anything done in the house that devotes all their energy to resistance. Can’t do much in the “national discourse” with the MSM and GOPe that are opposed to him. He is at least getting some judges confirmed in the Senate but not much else there and district court judges block him continuously.

Yet, he continues to fight. I too am frustrated with the pace of immigration reform, border security, and “draining the swamp.” However, he is trying and some of his own supporters, those who never imagined he would accomplish 1/3 of what he has, are beginning to turn on him because he does not have magical dictatorial powers to make it all happen.

It is deflating. My fellow FReepers, the problem is NOT Donald Trump. He is trying and by any measure he has been successful beyond my imagination and I say that as a person who is still surprised he won seemingly against the whole world.

I want these critical problems fixed and so does he. He has kept more promises than we all expected on a host of issues we no longer discuss or remember..... We all get impatient and apparently so is he (see Mexico tariff), but he is not a dictator and he has to move his agenda forward against fierce opposition. Let us not be that opposition here on FR because he cannot snap his fingers and make it all happen. We still have much of his first term ahead of us!

Yep. There’s a group on here that continuously spew the mindless cynicism as though they believe it makes them appear more clued in, woke then the average Joe when in reality they just come across as knee jerk defeatists crying in their beer.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not convinced that justice will be served even to a limited degree. But I do think the likelihood is greater than it was a year ago.

Barr is a by the book, hard a$$ law and order kinda guy and so is John Durham. They are two very competent people in the right position at the right time in history.

Only time will tell if they are capable of succeeding in an absolutely monumental task.

Yes, but does he have any help and support from anyone? He seems to be in this all alone.

Good question.

Well, we agree on Nunes but I am curious about
your attitude regarding Gowdy. How is he different
than Nunes? Neither one could unilaterally move
against the Democrats and neither one could complain
about it without risking their status as a chairman.

What did they have on Gowdy that they could blackmail
him with?

Nunes has been getting the story out relentlessly.

Gowdy with, say, Benghazi? Just a for-show diversion and coverup.

And I have no idea what they have on Gowdy or how legit it is. But the default is that they have compromising material on pretty much all these guys. That Nunes (and Meadows and a couple others) speak out now as they do suggests that they are rare in how clean they are.

I am not too into conspiracies. Anybody can say whatever
bullshit that comes into their mind. On the other
hand I know someone who has served as a House
staff member who told me that party leaders have a lot
to say about what course is to be taken.

That is correct. And IIRC Meadows is one who admitted that that limited who they could call for witnesses, etc.

Still, Gowdy played his Benghazi bit with total preening—and coverup.

I don’t mean to come across as contentious but what
says “preening” and “cover up” to you regarding Gowdy
and the Benghazi scandal? What did he do or not do,
say or not say?
