Project Wetback is a markedly different thing than the executive branch enacting a tax on U.S. companies making financial transactions (remittances). Even with that, Project Wetback would be violating current U.S. law on asylum.
The problem isnt your suggestions being bad ideas, they are all good ideas and such ideas are necessary. However, current U.S. law enacted by Congress and signed by Bush makes these things impossible to implement if you follow the law. Trump does not have the support within his own party to openly violate current asylum or immigration law. Hell, his own party doesnt support the tariffs, which are practically the only thing he can legally do. He can close the border entirely. But that would undoubtedly result in his impeachment and removal from office.
We are boxed in by our own government, both political parties and the Deep State, all of whom probably desire the end of American sovereignty. All these need to be defeated and removed before any good options can be implemented.

You are worried about his impeachment as am I. Some of the media are indicating a shift in polling and that Dems are now seriously pursuing it...so it may be inevitable.
IF that is the case, perhaps has they say go Big? rather than get impeached over non-existent obstruction and collusion...
South America is literally being emptied out and we are the “beneficiaries.” It is as bad or worse than Europe.
I forgot to add that from the polling I have read, US citizens support the wall, stopping the tsunami of people, drugs, sex-traffic at the border. So I don’t think Dems would risk impeaching Trump for actions taken at the border or otherwise to stop what has escalated into a crisis.
