A new Gillette ad released last week Thursday features a transgender man shaving for the first time.
Samson Bonkeabantu Brown, a Toronto-based artist, shares the personal on-camera experience with his father, who coaches him through the significant life moment.
Now, dont be scared, his father warns. Shaving is about being confident.
Growing up, I was always trying to figure out what kind of man I wanted to become and Im still trying to figure out what kind of man that I want to become, says Brown, who addresses his transition through manhood.

I've been using Harry's for a while ...
They lost me with their last feminist/SJW ad, so go ahead and pile it on now, Gillette. This long time Gillette user is never coming back.
Samson Bonkebantu has got to be a made up name.
With a straight razor, I hope.
Gillette ad shows man teaching transgender son how to shave
—
It’s not his son. It’s his mentally ill daughter.
Absolutely reprehensible for this company to promote this garbage. No person with a speck of conscience or morality should EVER buy a product from them again.
Once upon a time, we tried to keep sharp objects away from the mentally ill.
It’s hard to imagine just how much testosterone they must have pumped into that girl...
Gillette’s razors are way overpriced. Their sales have been dropping. This ad will not help in regaining sales.
Shaving is about being confident?
Who knew?
I have already checked into 2 or three different brands of blades to switch to.
Actions have consequences
The CEOs in this country are being replaced by mega anti-American outsiders. Something similar might have happened here.
This is the thing that I’d start to worry about....you end up with 10,000 young ladies who are hyped up on steroids and testosterone, and some multiple doctor situation where anti-depressants get into the mix without the other doctor knowing the problems.
Doubling down on stupid is no way to go through life, Gillette.
As the Great One Bob Grant used to say: It’s a sick out there and getting sicker. Little did he know by how much and how fast.
Likewise, moved to Harry’s
Is it possible to laugh and throw up at the same time?
The definition of being against natural law. One wonders how it all rights itself. Getting the BCP hormone pharmaceutical waste out of the environment? Heck theres your environmental concern
Fixing the family? How do you do that? Men are required to do very little in being involved contrary to what feminism ostensibly was started on
Many fatherless boys
I tried Harry’s and it doesn’t work for me. I am still looking for a substitute for my Gillette. Anyone with any good suggestions?
Gillette is an evil business.
Short the stock.
