MAGA: Make America Grown-Up Again
American Thinker.com ^ | May 26, 2019 | Rich Logis

The Pentagon recently released data stating that 24 of the 34 million Americans aged 17–24 — 71% — are ineligible to serve in the military, due to obesity, a criminal record, or lacking a high school diploma. The 24 million are also ineligible for most careers.

I'd be willing to bet the 71% is actually too low, if you add drug use into the mix.

Why are approximately three out of four young American adults fat or uneducated or criminals? Kids aren't born that way; they're made that way. Where are their parents?

The College Board, which administers the SAT college entry exam, recently announced that the test will assign an "adversity score" for each student, to determine social and economic backgrounds. Students will not be told their scores, so they won't know their " We don't need no stinkin' SATs, adversity scores, LSATs, GREs, or any other BS standardized test. What America's future educators; lawyers; lawmakers; and, most importantly, parents, need is a GUT: a Grown Up Test. Hell, I say test some adults!

Maybe we should go back to the draft and whip these little special snowflake pissants into shape, ESPECIALLY that 71%.

Our quilting group ladies were saying the same thing last week. Have everyone serve for two years, then they can re-up if they want to. Even draft the girls and put them in non-combat positions. It’ll take 15 years, but it could turn America around.

This is a bullsh!t problem. All of these so called “problems” can be overcome by introducing these kids into a life of forced disciple.

You’ll never see Americans drafted again. There is too much public record now about the disgraceful injustice of having draft dodgers send other people off to fight wars in Third World sh!t-holes.

I think that many of us in the military do not want the draft. Nothing brings down morale quite as effectively as having people around who do not want to be there.

I have a STEM discipline career. Out of a group of 50 people, there are only 2 white males born and raised in the USA.

These are highly skilled positions, most requiring a MA.

We cannot find talent locally.

Where are our future engineers and scientists? They will come from all over the globe if we cannot produce them.

I think we’re just trying to come up with ideas to toughen up snowflakes. Military service could be one answer. Obviously, the kids’ parents have been dismal failures in raising decent children.

Wouldn’t a STEM discipline require something other than an MA?

This is a societal problem affecting much of the west.

I think that a lot of parenting advice coming out since the 1960s has been flat-out bad. For example, never punish your child by withholding dinner or by spanking, instead give a “time-out.” So the child never really learns that actions have consequences. People stopped teaching kids how to earn money and manage it responsibly, hence the high acceptance of socialism. Etc.

I don’t know the right answer, but I don’t think the military is the place to put these failures of parenting.

Fat kids are a product of reduced playground time in school.

Teach reading, math and history, skip the gay and lesbian lessons, and have recess. Lots of recess.

I absolutely do not buy this. I interview engineers all the time, and there are plenty of Americans. Most employers just want to hire fresh off the boat because it is cheaper.

Most companies are discriminating against Americans by never even inviting them in for an interview. And a great many managers likewise age discriminate (illegal) the same way.

Being overweight (or for that matter occasionally using drugs) doesn’t exclude most young people from most careers. Being stupid, criminal or an addict can put a damper on things.

My friend and I were at lunch the other day and some kid was doing that high-pitched shriek that can be heard for miles and curl your hair.

When we left we walked by the booth, with Mom and Dad each on a side, and kid in a high chair at the end of the table. He shrieked again. I stood right over his head, and said, “STOP IT!”

Some people clapped. Both Mom and Dad had their noses buried in their cell phones, completely ignoring the kid. When I told the kid to stop, they quickly looked up at me, then right back down to their devices. They didn’t even object to me disciplining their child. Very strange. Poor kid most likely will be ignored by his parents for 18 more years.

I was a “milk baby” and was pudgy until I the end of elementary school. Then the fat started to turn to muscle. It wasn’t magic nor some fool diet. In fact I and my skinny brother ate more. Hollow legs. What got me into shape was sports(little league) swimming , biking to the pool in the summer and lots of work on the farm, of which it is always work on the farm.

The kids are fat and lazy because life is made them fat and lazy.
It ain’t rocket science. We put a calf in a small stall to fatten them up for slaughter. Deprive them of movement, little light to stimulate and give them enough food and water to almost founder them and the weight pops on them quickly.

Ready to kill.

Get the message. We are setting our children ready to slaughter. They’re just waiting for the bullet to the head....

Spartans were tough because their society made them tough.

We used to be like that. We can again.
