Acting Secretary of Defense Patrick M. Shanahan embarks Tuesday, May. 28 to visit Hawaii, Jakarta, Singapore, Seoul, and Tokyo.
In Singapore, Secretary Shanahan will attend the Shangri La Dialogue where he will meet with key leaders from the region and announce the Department of Defenses new strategy for the Indo-Asia Pacific.
Throughout his trip, Secretary Shanahan will meet with key leaders to reaffirm defense relationships and conduct bilateral and multilateral meetings with senior officials.
The axiom?
'speak softly and carry a big stick'
This began with American president Theodore Roosevelt. In a letter to Henry L. Sprague, on January 26th 1900, he wrote:
"Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far."
I wonder if Shanahan is going to fit Ausralia in at some point. maybe he is afraid of leaks to the press on strategic matters.
It will be nteresting to see what happens with this in terms of the U.S, alliance with Australia.
Something to keep an eye on.
C7 out.
Oh great. Another Bureaucrat spending $100,000 on a booze trip overseas.
No wait. It’s Pelosi that does that.
Go see them and feed them bad info and then see what happens.
Hmmm... I don’t see Pyongyang on the list...
