Unprecedented power': William Barr blasts federal judges over nationwide injunctions
Washington Times ^ | May 21 | Jeff Mordock

Attorney General William P. Barr on Thursday railed against federal courts issuing nationwide injunctions blocking President Trump from implementing his policies, saying they wield “unprecedented power.”

In a speech before the American Law Institute, Mr. Barr said such injunctions block politicians of all stripes from enacting the voters’ will.

“One judge can, in effect, cancel the policy with the stroke of the pen,” he said. “No official in the United States government can exercise that kind of nationwide power, with the sole exception of the president

I apologize for doubting AG Barr when he was nominated. His attachment to the dreaded Bush family, The Swamp and President Trump’s kinda lousy track record in picking these people (Read: Sessions, Wray) didn’t bode well.

I’m so happy it looks like I was 100% wrong, and I’m liking this guy more and more.

Maybe there should be a law that says if a district judge is overruled nine times in the course of their tenure, they are automatically impeached and removed from the bench.

I like it!

They got away with it during the Smirking Chimp's administration, and then Bammy let them run wild.

The plan was to finish the process of Federal judge-president rulership during the reign of Felonia von Pantsuit.

That's why they're so mad, and why Resistance weasels like the Dishonorable Amit Mehta [who donated $2000 to 0bama/Biden in 2012] are pulling the Mitt that they're pulling.

I don’t understand the glee with which AG Barr’s complaints are being received here. Trump has yielded this power to these Federal judges. I don’t want to hear any more complaints, and I sure as hell don’t want to read any more tweets.

The judicial branch does not have the authority to dictate immigration and border policy to the judicial branch. Trump has to immediately start ignoring these improper rulings. What - we’re supposed to be afraid the Democrats and RINOs will really impeach him if he does?

Obviously I meant the judicial branch can’t dictate immigration and border policy to the executive branch.

I’ve change my mind on the 9 lives approach. If a district judge issues a nationwide injunction and is overturned, that should be cause for immediate removal.

Sorry Mr. Barr, unless that very same POTUS tells the courts to pound sand, yes, they can.

“...These judges need to be removed by any means necessary.....”
Any so-called “judge” that was appointed by the Kenyan Usurper is totally illegal and should be removed from the bench.

I’m wondering if a lot of democrats in the house and senate were involved in the spygate and they know they are trying to stop Trump before Horowitz is done. Maxine waters once made a statement about fbi is spying on Republicans or something to that effect. This was before Trump was in office.

I was trying to imagine his confirmation hearing, but couldn’t stop laughing past the swearing in part.

Definitely would give CSPAN stratospheric viewer ratings

I believe EEE will say that Jeff Session was Numero Uno amongst Attorney Generals. He was just playing 5D Chess, at a level that the rest of us could not comprehend....

I will say, Jeff Session led to William Barr - and so far that seems good. So, yay 5D Chess.

“This is my official Mea Culpa. I had feared Mr. Barr too much of a swamp denizen. It is becoming increasingly clear that no matter what else he may be, he is in fact a Great American.”

I could not agree more. Great choice by President Trump.

Oh, relax. He gave a speech to the American Law Institute. He didn’t get on Sean Hannity’s show and talk about a “tick-tock bombshell” that might come out tomorrow ... or next week ... or in 2050.

Sessions??

May I be blunt?

Sessions was a monumental disappointment. We lost 2 years of justice because of him. This democrat feeding frenzy may have been diverted if he had not ‘recused’ himself.

Surely Extremely Extreme Extremist wasn’t thinking of Sessions.
