Following the 2016 presidential election, liberal elites wasted no time in demonizing those people populating Red States. Writing for The Hill, Duane Townsend was among the first to voice an opinion that has become familiar to the point of cliché: America is held hostage by flyover states. Townsend offered this thoughtful, measured analysis of this demographic:
A flyover state is the huge region between the coasts. As opposed to the eastern seaboard, northern post-industrial states and Pacific Ocean states. Theyre overwhelmingly Republican, stanchly conservative, regressive right wing, evangelical Christian and working class, well, the loudest, most ill-informed of them are .They either want their country back or theyre tired of being ignored. They regularly blurt the latter as justification for electing right-wing theocrat/closed minds, austerity minded, cultural fascists to office.
This sort of rhetoric has become commonplace in the interim years, and, just when you thought it was impossible for it to get any worse, it did.
The reason for the uptick in vitriol and bigotry toward this huge region between the coasts can we safely assume Townsend rejects the fruited plain thesis? is the recent wave of abortion laws successively passed by Ohio, Kentucky, Mississippi, Georgia, and, most restrictive of all, Alabama. This led the Boston Globe to announce that Americas red state legislatures are on an abortion bender.
Over the weekend, "Saturday Night Lives" Leslie Jones, in a rant more befitting a girl fight YouTube video than a television show known for clever political satire, attacked the weird-ass men who passed these laws. Uncouth and unfunny, she made a crude remark about their supposed lack of testicular fortitude and, in what was meant to be her mic-drop moment, she concluded with this profoundly insightful observation: women are the same as humans!

You never know when driving through a State if you’ll feel the urge to kill your unborn child.
On long drives it’s usually your “already born” kids that can give you an urge to kill them. :D
There may even be some deep red states that dont even bother outlawing abortion right now because they dont have any abortion clinics left anyway. I believe thats the case in North Dakota, for example.
I’m in Kentucky. We have one left. It’s a block from where I work.

They have a heavy dose of the primary human flaw:
They want to be their own god and do what ever they please, no matter the level of depravity of their desires.
We believers sometimes stand in their way, which is why they hate us.
It is a desperate insistence that the world is other than it is because it's more convenient that way that causes this cognitive dissonance, for that's exactly what it is. It expresses itself in violence because it's fundamentally irrational.
#1: they want whatever tears down Judeo-Christian societies
#2: they hate life
#3: they are satanic and relish sacrificing children

1970 Democrat Racist Judge in Louisiana
...The best way to hate a n****** is to hate him before he is born.
Pro-abortion Leander Perez, Louisiana State Judge, 1970.
The Democrats have such a lovely history with racism
And delight in Abortion, go figure...
Most abortion centers are located near predominantly minority communities
Pro-abortion supporters are fierce and bullying for the same reason Islamic jihadists are fierce and bullying — because their main purpose in life is to promote the brutal killing of human beings. Unlike pro-abortionists, however, Islamic jihadists don’t make extra money by selling their victims’ body parts.
How else would one imagine savage murderers to behave except fiercely? Like kindly churchgoers at a picnic?
For decades since Roe vs. Wade became law the liberal media has prohibited the showing of actual abortions because they’re so savage and evil. However, by allowing fierce and bullying crowds of pro-abortionists to scream and yell on the evening news in reaction to new anti-abortion laws in states like Alabama and Georgia, the public is becoming increasingly aware of and repelled by the savage and evil pro-abortion movement.
I would disagree. What is driving this is the hatred that women are indeed women and not men, that they have been created by God to bear raise children. They hate that men and women were created to compliment and serve one another. They dream of a world where women are free from their feminine nature, free to live only for their own selfish desire, free from the obligations to family, husband and children. Abortion is their sacrament of freedom from who they are, from how God made them. There are men who also support this because it also frees them too from the obligations of being a husband and a father. Sex no longer has any meaning other than the pursuit of selfish physical pleasure; it is no longer directed to the self-giving love of family. And the Left hates anyone who would restore sex, either the act or our creation in two proper sexes, to its proper end.
Dear Ruru,
I have recently been wondering if the psychedelic craze of the sixties had something to do with Western moral meltdown — a terrible misuse of the art and science of medicine to plop people into a mental world in which truth itself breaks down and matters take on a fantastic aspect. The occasion for this for me was a recollection of an ostensibly hauntingly romantic song by the Moody Blues, “Nights in White Satin.” A closer look at it reveals its “trippy” elements, and even the official You Tube video has “trippy” imagery. The lyrics confess not knowing what is true anymore, and don’t comprehend the oxymoron in multiple nights, each one of which “never reaches an end.”
Traditional Christians railed at this kind of thing, as would be expected, but perhaps did less well at making the positive case for Jesus as the Truth, Way, and Life. Without making that positive case, it is so easy to come off as the perennial “fuddy duddy” who is ignorant by arbitrary bias. Rather, those who have chosen to accept being His will reject certain thoughts as being from His enemy.
Jesus, in fact, is Sanity. But He isn’t always wisdom as the world teaches it.
You beat me to it: They are either atheistic or downright satanists, and they really like the thought of killing babies.
The only problem with his assertion is that there are enough abortion-supporters in flyover country to make a lot of noise, regardless of the legislative majorities might be willing to pass.
Anecdotal, but I have been “snoozing” FB people of the gender other than mine over the last few days due to their pro-abortion rants, and they all are in states that voted for Trump in 2016.
The difference between CA/NY and, say, AL/TN is in the percentages: CA is probably 65/35 leftist while AL is 65/35 conservative, but the 35% in states like AL and TN can be as boisterous and b*tchy as the 65% in CA and NY.
They like the idea of women being the ultimate arbiters of life and death, not just as custodians of life.
Don't they claim to be evolved monkeys? Explains a lot of their behavior.
I don’t want them to like me.
Monkeys are nicer, in general.
I dunno. They are against capital punishment for even the worst of violent criminals. I think they just like killing babies.
