Trump had no leverage over Speaker Paul Ryan.
Well never know, because he didnt try to pressure Ryan on immigration and the wall. He let Ryan push Ryans agenda instead.

Ryan won his district by a far larger margin than Trump did. The same is true for every Republican member of both houses of Congress who won in 2016.
Trump has zero leverage over Congress. Thats why he began treating Nancy Pelosi as the Speaker of the House before Ryan left office. Politically, its just easier to blame Democrats for failing to support an agenda that couldnt get passed in a Republican-controlled Congress, either.
