Trump Plan Mandates E-Verify, Protecting U.S. Jobs for Americans
Breitbard ^ | 17 May 2019 | JOHN BINDER

Posted on 05/18/2019 6:09:28 AM PDT by xzins

A White House plan to reform the country’s legal immigration system includes a provision that mandates the use of E-Verify to prevent employers from hiring illegal aliens over American citizens.

Mandatory E-Verify, pro-American immigration reformers previously said, was crucial to any immigration plan unveiled by the White House as, currently, American workers are forced to compete against illegal aliens for working class jobs in a majority of states that do not mandate the use of E-Verify.

“Even though the plan doesn’t reduce numbers overall, it contains no amnesty or guest worker increases, mandates E-Verify, and addresses the wholesale abuse of our asylum policies,” the Federation for American Immigration Reform’s (FAIR) RJ Hauman told Breitbart News.

In states that have implemented mandatory E-Verify, the program has resulted in fewer jobless Americans, the most recent study by FAIR has found.

Mandatory E-Verify continues to be one of the most popular national immigration policies across party lines and the American electorate. In November 2018 exit polling by Zogby Analytics for FAIR, a total of 75 percent of American voters said they support mandatory E-Verify to prevent businesses from hiring illegal aliens over U.S. workers.

This includes a majority of Democrats, nearly 55 percent; more than 90 percent of Republicans, and nearly 80 percent of swing voters who support mandatory E-Verify. Across all demographic groups, mandatory E-Verify enjoys majority support. More than 80 percent of white Americans, nearly 74 percent of Asian Americans, 58 percent of Hispanic Americans, and nearly 53 percent of black Americans support the implementation of mandatory E-Verify to shore up jobs for American citizens.

Any employer paying an illegal and did not e verify should lose everything and spend 5 years in jail.

They need to address current employees, not just new hires. Give all companies 6 months to a year (depending on the size of the company) to E-Verify all existing employees. Penalties for failure to rid the company of illegals within 30 days of discovery of having an employee who is illegally here, CEO/President gets one year in jail for each offense + heavy fine TBD.

I think he has no constitutional authority to do this.

This looks like more Right Wing government overreach that the Left uses to implement their tyranny once they get the chance.

The feds job is stop invasion AT THE BORDER. It is GOVERNMENT FAILURE not to do so. Private Americans and enterprise should not suffer the iron boot of unconstitutional government coercion because GOVERNMENT screws up.

But that is the nature of things: government screws up and you and I pay the price.

The feds job is stop invasion AT THE BORDER (U.S. Constitution, Art IV, Sec. 4). It is GOVERNMENT FAILURE not to do so. Private Americans and enterprise should not suffer the iron boot of unconstitutional government coercion because GOVERNMENT screws up.

Given that illegal immigration and immigration is invasion, given that the constitution MANDATES the feds PREVENT invasion, and given that Trump is Commander in Chief of our military, Trump has every legal ground to launch a full-scale military operation at the border to STOP INVASION.

He also has full constitutional support for building the wall which is MUCH less expensive that a full military operation although expenditures will be needed to maintain top-notch border security.

And anybody and everybody on the Left that opposes, throw the freakers over the damn wall.

Exactly! Thank you! Couldn’t have stated it any better!

The e-verify system has always been the key. President Trump ups the ante.

Well, two wrongs do not make a right. What you are essentially saying is if the Federal Government doesn’t do the job 100% then the private sector is given a green light to break the law. That’s wrong. If a private sector company is hiring illegals, they ARE evil because they are breaking the law and they know it. The Federal Government can use any number of ways to enforce immigration laws-keeping private sector business owners honest (since so many of them seem to have difficulties doing it on their own) is one way.

That’s why we have speed limit signs and state troopers-because we can’t trust a portion of the population to drive right. Well-apparently there is a portion of private sector business owners that can’t be trusted as well and if they can get by with breaking the law for a buck, they will.

Companies using Modern Slavery need to be fined stiffly

Fines are just a cost of doing business with these people. Add in some jail time for the CEOs, even if only 30 days (double for each new offense) in the county lock up.

"Oh dear, just WHAT will the country club think of me?" There's also the threat of now having an arrest record.

There’s one belief among all others that establishes progressivism and gives it life: the idea that “most people are stupid.”

Be very careful. The only way this idea propagates is through brainwashing.

Why would you encourage breaking the law?

We’re a nation of laws. When you advocate such widespread lawlessness, you’re promoting the destruction of our country.

Not exactly war - it is preventing INVASION - something the Constitution mandates regardless of whether Congress gets around to declaring war (U.S. Const., Art IV, Sec. 4).

Right

Wrong.

So leave the illegals and the fedgov officials relatively unpunished

I never said that.

Deport the aliens, and convict all domestic lawbreakers.

arrest those evil private sector American business owners.

I never said that either, but they need to be penalized accordingly, and the alien workforce will vanish.

Got it.

I doubt that.

“Why would you encourage breaking the law?”

When did I do that? I’m advocating just the OPPOSITE.

“We’re a nation of laws. When you advocate such widespread lawlessness, you’re promoting the destruction of our country.”

So why are YOU advocating for the fedgov’s breaking of our laws?

It’s ok if the fedgov breaks the law, but woe unto any business that doesn’t e-verify.

It’s stupid.

Don’t the LAWS say the fedgov is solely responsible for protecting the borders?

Why aren’t YOU advocating for the enforcement of our laws?

“So leave the illegals and the fedgov officials relatively unpunished”

“I never said that.”

You said you couldn’t wait for the armed raids on Americans, quote “strap yourself in.”

“Deport the aliens, and convict all domestic lawbreakers.”

The fedgov has broken the law by non-enforcement, some gov workers have aided and abetted illegals escaping from ICE agents.

But you want to arrest business owners...it’s just plain stupid, and plays right into the hands of biggov leftists.

arrest those evil private sector American business owners.

“I never said that either, but they need to be penalized accordingly, and the alien workforce will vanish.”

Again STUPID:

Oh gee I’m from Honduras and I can’t get a job because of E-VERIFY, well I guess I WON’t do what all my cousins in the USA are doing, Section 8, food stamps, fuel assistance, Obamacare.....I’ll just go back to Honduras./S

How stupid can you be?
