It was Iran, not the US, that breached international law by carrying out the US Embassy takeover in Tehran.... It was also Iran, not the US, that immediately began using its proxies, such as Hezbollah, to commit terrorism and incite antagonism towards America.
Should the mullahs be appeased for killing thousands of Americans? For continually taking Americans as hostages? For being the leading executioner of children in the world? For ranking the first in the world per capita when it comes to executing people? For being the world's top state sponsor of terrorism? For making every possible effort to damage US national security and scuttle US foreign policy objectives?
The Iranian government's hatred towards the US often seems the most important reason for its existence. Former President Barack Obama (created) this policy, and insisted that it would be successful. Even as Iran ( flaunted) its disregard for the American government, as well as human life, President Obama would (continually) apologize to the Iranian leaders. He made it sound as if America was to blame for initiating the hatred that the Iranian government projects toward the United States.

I believe he hid his college records because he was admitted to Occidental as an Indonesia exchange student.

This story starts with the events that culminated in Operation Ajax.
When the US failed to act as a great power and severely discipline Iran for taking hostages in 1979, it legitimized and solidified the rule of the mullahs. The Mullahs went on to develop a nuclear industry, develop an imperialist military that has established a strategic presence in Iraq and Syria, and actually killed Americans with the IEDs furnished to American opponents in Afghanistan and Iraq. There are many senior military officers who served in Iraq and Afghanistan who would like nothing better than being the soldiers of an America acting like a great power.
Why wouldn’t they hate us? We support their enemies in the Mideast, whatever misdeeds they’re involved with.

Events in 1979 happened 26 years after Operation Ajax. People forget unless they’re haters to begin with. If installing the Shah was wrong then we shouldn’t reinstate his son.

It goes back well before that...Iran was the route through which we shipped weapons into Russia to fight the Nazis. And after WW2 the Russians didn’t really want to leave Iran and required some nudging.
