AOC blames Twitter, readers after called out for tweets about Alabama pro-life law

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez blamed Twitter's character limitations -- and the reading skills of her critics -- after getting called out for spreading misinformation about the newly signed abortion ban in Alabama.

The New York Democrat used the social media platform to criticize the law, which was signed by the governor on Wednesday and outlaws nearly all abortions in the state. The same law also makes performing an abortion a felony, punishable by up to 99 years or life in prison unless the mother’s health is at risk, with no exceptions for women impregnated by rape or incest.

“Alabama lawmakers are making all abortions a felony punishable w jail time, including women victimized by rape+incest,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote in a tweet.

Occasional-Cortex’s mouth is bigger than her brain and she cannot bring herself to admit to all of the mistaken statements she utters. She thinks she’s an unassailable expert on everything.

Well, the Left-wing media did kind of build her up to that.

It is necessary to destroy completely this deviant woman and people like her. At the center of the Democratic Party are homosexuals and feminists. Homosexuals are a Darwinian aberration that not only has no interest in procreation, but loathes everything associated with the process including the baby. Feminism at its core is an antifertility cult. Mankind throughout its history has faced existential challenges. The existential challenge to American civilization is the Democratic Party which is led by these decadent and hedonistic deviants. Decent people must rise to the challenge.

I hope the people in her district are paying attention. All politics is local. She does nothing for them.

The use of incest as a reason for abortion is a red herring. It is either consensual (in which case such a pregnancy is no different then a normal one, except for the disgust factor), or it is rape. There can be no other choice. It is just another word and concept that the proportion side has used for decades to add to the list of reasons why “reasonable people” should be in favor of abortion.

With regard to rape, that is a little bit more complicated. On the one hand, there is the argument that the rape itself is enormously stressful to the woman and is something that she will likely have to deal with for the rest of her life (which is quite obviously true), and that having a child who is the product of that rape will only exacerbate her stress. On the other hand, it is also true that a tremendous number of women have guilty feelings for the rest of their life after having performed an abortion for any reason. Having an abortion is, for many women, and extremely stressful event in its own right. Thus, having an abortion after a rape is adding one extremely stressful event to another. I would like to see some objective studies regarding rates of depression and suicide among rape victims who get pregnant as result of the rape, comparing those who have had an abortion to those who have not. I think that the results would be very surprising to a lot of people, mainly because the abortion industry is pushing abortion as a means of relieving the trauma that a woman suffers after having been raped. I have a very strong suspicion that an objective study of these two groups would put the lie to that point of view.

Well it should be needless to mention this, I will do so anyway: rape is obviously extremely traumatic event, and much of that trauma remains with its victims for the rest of their lives. This is an area where 9 victims need to be very sensitive. However, just because someone, male or female, has not been raped does not mean but there opinion on the matter is of no worth. Anyone saying that, just like the people who say that men should remain silent on the entire issue of abortion, is merely trying to shut down viewpoints with which they disagree.

Apologies for my phone being unable to understand plain English, and my failure to check my post before entering it. I am on the way to work, and I am somewhat I’m pressured.

Abortion does not leave the poor woman un-raped. She is stuck with that horrible memory for the rest of her life, and my heart is broken for her.

If someone must die because of a rape, it should be the guilty rapist, not the totally innocent baby.

Deal with these young idiots daily...

Their abilities don’t remotely match their egos or arrogance.

All hat, no cattle.

Gee, that is just like Obama...it’s always someone else’s fault, and I don’t know anything about that; I only read it in the newspapers just like you.

"good to know you’re here to promote criminalizing medical providers"

Abortions aren't "medicine". Words are probably not AOC's strong suit, so maybe pictures will be easier for her to understand.

This is the international symbol for medicine:

This is the international symbol for things that do what abortion does:
