'It was the best decision I have ever made': Actress Jameela Jamil defends her abortion

There is no shortage of candid opinions on British actress Jameela Jamil's Twitter feed. Aside from starring on NBC's "The Good Place," the 33-year-old is best known for being an outspoken activist, often weighing in on issues from body positivity to sex and consent.

This week, Jamil joined the chorus speaking out against highly restrictive abortion legislation being passed or considered by a number of states nationwide. In a series of impassioned tweets on Monday criticizing Georgia's "heartbeat bill," Jamil revealed she had an abortion - a choice, she said, she does not regret.

"I had an abortion when I was young, and it was the best decision I have ever made," she tweeted. "Both for me, and for the baby I didn't want, and wasn't ready for, emotionally, psychologically and financially."

The actress rebuked the bill that Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, R, signed into law last week, banning abortions after doctors are able to detect a "fetal heartbeat in the womb," which usually occurs about six weeks into pregnancy. At that time, most women don't even know if they are pregnant.

Never heard of this b- before and doubt we will see her again. And Umm, no, I don't think it was the best thing for the baby.

If only her mother had made the same decision.

Don’t have to defend it to us. We know what she did. Save the tap dancing for God and Jesus and hope they forgive you.

Don’t expect sinners not to act like sinners.

Her world view is probably formed by the New York Times, the Post, Women’s rallies, and radicals of all shapes.

I haven’t heard of her either; she sounds Arab rather than British. Wouldn’t she have wanted the kid to become a martyr, blowing himself or herself up for the anti-Israel cause? Then the Palestinian authority would give her $25,000 a year for life!

"I had an abortion when I was young, and it was the best decision I have ever made," she tweeted. "Both for me, and for the baby I didn't want, and wasn't ready for, emotionally, psychologically and financially."

With that logic, we can dispense with all who are inconvenient. The infirm, the aged, the criminals, the lazy spouses and snot-nosed brats ... all is fair when we aren't ready to deal with them emotionally, psychologically, or financially. It's not for me to judge, but I can't see how a person with a soul so dead as this would be happy in Heaven, and I don't see how Heaven would be happy to have a soul so dead either.

Most women do know they are pregnant before six weeks.

Jamil says she does not regret her abortion but many women do regret getting an abortion and some are forever haunted by it. The SUMMER OF 42 actress, Jennifer O’Neil, campaigned extensively against abortion due to her regrets.

Look into her eyes as they are the windows to her soul.

She has a beautiful body but her soul is closed and hard, full of obstacles to love.

You can gift wrap a box of crap and it might look beautiful on the outside, but inside it’s still a box of crap.

Take whatever Hollywood says with a grain of salt. These people make up stuff to promote themselves and their movies, music, tv shows, etc.

I don’t read their books, their life stories, any of these “me too” sob stories, especially when they don’t name names, because it’s all BS to get attention.

"abortion when I was young, and it was the best decision I have ever made,' she tweeted. 'Both for me, and for the baby I didn't want,"

It might have been the best decision for her, but she can not say that about her inconvenient baby.

He or she was not given the chance to live. Who knows what this child would have become?

She could have let the baby live and be adopted if she didn't want the responsibility. That would have brought joy to the adopted patents.

There must be a million ways that the little life she snuffed out, might have touched the world.

How many people would this person have been close to, in his or her lifetime?

No one will ever know them now.

Someone should ask her if she regrets that her mother didn't abort her.

She wouldn't have grown up to do the devil's work of deceiving young women into believing that abortion- killing your baby- is no big deal.

The SUMMER OF 42 actress, Jennifer O’Neil, campaigned extensively against abortion due to her regrets.

I was in Mendocino when Summer of '42 was being filmed, and I was stunned by her beauty. I'm glad to hear that there was more to her than her looks and acting ability.

Better decision to keep her legs together but that’s just my opinion. Lust over life is a tough one to explain when the time comes
