Interesting. Hoping this works . . . a little at least.

I’m starting to get several in a row around 5 each day.

Never answered and later blocked.

It’s gotten so bad, I never answer my home phone, and I only answer calls from my area code if I haven’t registered the caller.

This is entirely the fault of the phone companies.

I used to use the Mr. Number app to screen my calls on my android phone, but they have gone to a subscription model. What call blocker do you use?

I think you mean “HAVE”, not “haven’t”.

And me too.

If you’re not in my white list (family, friends, doctors, hospitals, police, fire, etc.) you’re instantly blocked. If anyone wants to get a hold of me they have to do the request face-to-face or with email to be added to my white list.

I play the game with those calls all the time... I go thru pushing the buttons and waiting and then I am as crude, sexually explicit, vulgar as I can possibly be...

One time, i’ll never forget it... some black chick comes on and I asked if she, in other words, offered oral services with the others... she sighed, and after a pause she says...”All day long sir... All day long..” I busted out laughing and so did she. I apologized to her and she said she fully understands my frustrations with the robo calls. We wished each other a nice day and hung up! truly was funny.

but all of the others, I’d say my technique works 10 times better for no return calls than hitting the do not call option button!

Someone buys service, phone company is happy.

This could have been fixed decades ago but the Swamp wants to keep it so they can stalk you during election time.

I have Comcast (yeah yeah, they own NBC) and they have free NoMoRobo—I hear one ring on my landline and that’s it. A robocaller. I get calls on my cell, too (Boost).
Don’t recognize number etc, don’t answer.

Not a robocall but a live person: “Hello this is Angela from the Warranty Department...” Hung up. Turned out (looked up number via Comcast app) it was a company preying on those whose car warranties may be expiring.

I do get the spoofed area codes and spoofed exchanges to make it seem like a local number.

And the warranty dept one isn’t even the people from the car manufacturer—it’s someone offering protection aside from them (to extend). Ok, WHAT warranty dept?

From whycall.me:
“I have filed a complaint against “Angela” from “The Warranty Department” with our states attorney general. She calls multiple times a day using a call number generator. I have blocked probably 100 phone numbers and she still calls back. She will not stop and listen. She keeps pushing you to select options for renewing a warranty but does not identify any vehicle said expired warranty is for. I have clearly stated to her “NO!”. “Stop calling me” “Remove my phone number”. I have hung up on her repeatedly. I have let the phone go to voice mail repeatedly. SHE WILL NOT STOP CALLING!. Even after I told her if she didn’t stop I would have charges pressed on her. She continued so I let her know I will now proceed with filing with our states Attorney General. I have now submitted my initial complaint.
I encourage anyone else who is being harassed repeatedly by “Angela” to do the same.
Using the number generator trick is illegal in some states. Calling someone repeatedly after being told to stop, is harassment in ALL states. And on top of these crimes, not identifying the supposed vehicle in question signals to me that this is a SCAM seeking vulnerable peoples financial information.”

YouMail.com
The YouMail.com app is very good at filtering calls and makes a credible transcription, if the caller leaves a message.

I really want a “WHITE LIST.”

If the caller is NOT in my contacts list, then zap the cold callers and the ones from who-knows-where.

The Ap I use is Ignore

If the call is important there will be voice mail

Most people with whom I deal don’t use the phone anyway. They restrict communication to e mail

I started getting spoofed calls from my own phone number. I recorded a new voicemail greeting that started with the SIP code for disconnected number. I let all calls I don’t recognize go to voicemail. Within a week, I stopped getting robocalls. https://www.thisisarecording.com/signaling.html

Blocking doesn’t work. These robocallers can use any number they like. I must have blocked 100 numbers. Their calls can appear to be from your local prefix. I’ve even received calls from myself.

You’re not ‘blocking’ these robocallers when you block a number. They just change the ‘spoofed’ number and call again. In effect, you’re blocking a number that did not call. You’re chasing your tail.

I’ve set my phone to “Do Not Disturb” with an exception to accept calls from my contacts list. If you’re not on my contacts list, you go to voice mail. If you’re on my contacts list, I receive your call.

I get ten a day easily. I used to use the voicemail to screen calls but my most recent solution is just turn the phone off when I am not using it. Telemarketers have turned the phone into an almost unusable tool.

At election time?
I get 2-3 calls a week from either the RNC and other ‘conservative’ organizations.
When I politely ask them to put me on their ‘Do Not Call’ list then remind me it is legal for their organization to call, but will add me.

I *still* get calls from them, however.
The “other” organizations will just sell my phone number to another ‘conservative’ organization and the calls continue.
It only has a different number.

It is so frustrating.

If there were consequences, this crap would stop. Personally, I would put the perps in a steel room and play rap music so loud their heads would explode... shown live on tv, of course.
