Are you kidding me?
Im used to partisan, inaccurate drivel from all sides these days, but the medias coverage of President Trumps tariffs and the so-called trade war takes some kind of cake.
Theres no serious doubt that some in the media would absolutely love to tank the stock market. They figure that would hurt Trumps re-election chances in 2020. Mondays stock market slump, which saw the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.82% tumble 2.4% and the Nasdaq Composite 3.4%, looked just like what the doctor ordered.
I write this, incidentally, as someone who is no fan of the president. But I remember when politics was supposed to stop at the waters edge.
And, anyway, facts are facts. Most of what the public is being told about these tariffs is either misleading or a downright lie.
Ive been following the coverage all weekend with my jaw on the floor.

Among the many other things that they lie about.
MSNBC Anchor: “Our Job” Is To “Control Exactly What People Think”
Opinion: The media is lying to you about Trumps China tariffs...
Why are there any words necessary after YOU?
You ever notice that every time somebody sais something positive or at least neutral about the president, they are seemingly compelled to pre qualify any statement with now mind you, I am no fan of Trumps, but ...?
It's how you keep your job. ";^)

Yep, the mendacious media. Lies, half-truths, use of selective facts, and outright propaganda.
The American media outlets used to disparage Pravda and Izvestia for the same reasons.
I was waiting for someone to notice.
Stock market drops over a year before the election are not going to impact the election. They need to work on their timing. They had it DOWN SOLID in 2008.
Tariffs are bad? People will rationally buy products cheaper than Chinese imports. The red Chicoms don’t have a monopoly on any goods except rare earth metals.
Farmers can be subsidized for a few years to offset their market loss. Food can be stored or redistributed. Venezuela certainly needs humanitarian food. It’s not like farmers haven’t subsidized before. The crappy ethanol mandate in our gas made Iowa farmers rich at our expense.
The Donald’s trade war is a twofer win. Weakens China and strengthens America.
Excellent article!
Heh! Good one.
Fixed
The corrupt media twists the truth and lies in almost every news story to be damaging to Trump, nothing new here.
Likewise, when forced to report good news connected to the president (unemployment numbers, for example), theres always an obligatory however disclaimer.

The current problem is time for transition
How long will it take to transition a ton of manufacturing to capable nations to create new sources?
Xi is betting that Trump will be gone before that transition on a scale that matters can occur. He believes americans actually like Chinese made stuff and will not tolerate a permanent China tax.
So, it may boil down to how long can the Chinese economy tolerate the intense strain?
Very true, but that fact doesn't fit the MSM agenda. They would prefer to convince the general public, especially the coddled Snowflakes, that capitalism is evil and Socialism is the answer to everything, including international trade. No Socialist regime has survived as long as capitalism has thrived in the US. Social experiments, from New Harmony, to Cuba, to today's Venezuela, have all failed, and history is strewn with their wreckage. But, as Bernie would say, "We'd do it right!" Yeah, Bernie, like you're the sharpest knife that been in the drawer for the past 250 years. Capitalism got us to be the #1 economy on the planet, but the Leftist want to start over and turn the US into Venezuela.
Idiots...
China is hurting so bad Yogi Bear(Xi Jinping) is pulling out the Race Card
But by 1928, tariffs had started to fade away as a major political question in the country, as the national income tax replaced tariffs as a source of federal revenue.
An item our POTUS may want to include in his discussions.
