Science commentator Bill Nye had some choice words about the need for urgent action to combat global warming.
On "Last Week Tonight With John Oliver" on Sunday, after the host discussed the Green New Deal, Nye demonstrated an experiment that was different from his usual more staid fare.
Appearing in a lab coat and donning safety glasses, Nye opined "when something costs more, people buy less of it," in reference to a possible carbon tax that's been floated by politicians as a way to mitigate climate change. ..."
“By the end of this century, if emissions keep rising, the average temperature on Earth could go up another four to eight degrees.
What I’m saying is the planet’s on f------ fire,” Nye said while setting a globe on fire with a blowtorch that had been hidden under his desk.

On fire, my gluteous Maximus! Just ask the upper Midwest, where it’s been too wet to plant crops. Or here in Pennsyltucky, where it’s rained several weeks straight. Bill will have to take his lies elsewhere. Someone should go back to the 1970s and list all the lying, BS warning “deadlines” that have been foisted on us in the last 50 years.

The great irony here is that Nye’s “blowtorch” dramatics were a pretty good (if exaggerated) demonstration of how solar radiation actually works. But I’ll bet he didn’t realize that.
If we believe their (probably inflated) data, we are only one degree hotter than the last hundred year average. How will a one degree change set the planet on fire? Why does pencil neck geek Nye deny science?
You mean the heat might come from that giant ball of fire in the sky and not from the carbon dioxide that makes up a staggering 1/25th of one percent of the atmosphere?
