The Washington Post reports that a 23-year-old would-be armed robber has died after sustaining injuries to the head when his victim fought back with a large rock.
The Post says that two men from the DMV area, Tauron Williamson, 23, and Tyron Wheeler, 22, were trying to rob two men on April 22. Wheeler was able to shoot one of the men, but the second victim fought back and evaded injury from the aggressors.
At first, authorities believed that Williamson had been shot, but an autopsy showed his death was due to being pummeled on the head with blunt force. The incident took place in Prince George County, MD.

Careful, pretty soon Cory Booker will be calling for a national registry of all rock owners.
Turn them in Mr and Mrs America. No place in civilized society for weapons of war. Then again, we are talking Maryland so possibly the civilized society part doesn’t apply.
As an aside, I was ‘birffed’ in MD way back before mid last century.
Assault rock yep bet he even owned a pet rock and trained it to kill.............................................
rock and roll- outlaw rock and roll- ban ‘high capacity rock holders’- limit people to just 7 rocks- ban all rocks of war- rock on dude-
Waiting for a “rock buy back” program.
General J. Mattis advises:
“Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet!”
Where theres a will, theres a way.
Rocked his world..
Sounds like SOMEONE has been watching Palestinian news films.
What about the man that Wheeler shot?
They're obviously not counting the U.S. Congress. Throw them in and your risk is just about a hundred percent.
Hmmm, apparently you never bring a gun to a rock fight...
A good way to end unemployment would be to put folks to work making gravel from rocks
Yeah what happened to the guy who was shot? The prose was obviously written by someone who views English as a third or fourth language.
Not all; only the assault-style rocks. And buying and selling such rocks would be illegal.
when rocks are made illegal, only criminals will have rocks
The would-be victim showed great presence of mind and ability to think on his feet. Anger at his friend (I’m assuming the rock wielder wasn’t the one shot) having been shot probably fueled his strength. Good for him.
I don’t see where the surviving assailant was charged with murder. Of course this is Maryland. Here in Texas, and in a lot of other states, the surviving assailant would be charged with the murder of his associate since their criminal activity forced the victim into defending himself and his friend. I think that might help the individual forced into killing in self-defense by placing the blame for the death where it belongs.
