Because black voters tend to overwhelmingly vote Democrat, candidates and pundits often assume they share the same views as progressives, supporting third-trimester abortions, the Green New Deal and Medicare for all, Floyd said.
“I don’t think black voters are really that progressive,” he said. “They’re pretty moderate. They care about their community. They care about their schools. They care about getting a decent paycheck.”
The most recent Pew survey of Democratic voters shows just that. Black voters characterize their values as more moderate than liberal, with 40 percent of black Democrats calling themselves moderate, 30 percent conservative and only 28 percent liberal.
Philadelphia City Council president Darrell Clarke said it’s wrong to assume the black community will vote on identity politics rather than issues closer to home.
He points to the fact that a white candidate, Jim Kenney, beat a black candidate, Anthony Williams, in the race for mayor of Philadelphia in 2015, even though nearly 44 percent of the city’s population is black.
“I think African-Americans pretty much want what everybody else wants: access to good health care, jobs, a good education, a home and a safe community,” Clarke said.
Currently, there are three black candidates running for president in the Democratic primary. Though Clarke has not officially endorsed anyone in that race, he admits he is leaning strongly towards one candidate.
“It’s likely going to be Joe,” he said. “I haven’t made an official decision yet. But I know Joe Biden quite well.”

I’ve seen NO mass movement among black folks I know to voting R.
Except Trump. He gets one out of 5 black men’s votes, and that’s a LOT, considering the past.
But they don’t really consider him an R.

They don’t need the seniors vote, so you never hear about the issue.

That’s because soon they won’t need black votes.
Sure, there’s a whole industry of race pimping, but black voters should wake up - they’re moving down the list of Dem priorities.
I will say this.
Trump is is the only republican politician I have seen black (males) wearing his T-shirt or hat in public.
Not many. But way more than any other.
As long as they vote for the D, it doesn’t matter whether they share the candidate’s views on any subject. The Democrat candidate could support eliminating the black race - which is pretty much a summary of their anti-life stance. He’s still going to get the black vote.
One big reason Trump won in 2016 is that many black voters stayed home instead of voting for Hillary. In 2020 I think a lot of them — maybe as high as 30%+ of black MEN — will vote for Trump.
I can say that a few black neighbors i spoke to while working as a precinct judge on election day 2004 that some came out expressly to vote on the gay marriage ban. They likely went on to vote for Kerry, but still...
I predict they haven’t yet ramped up the black vote. They’re will be many black churches that catch fire by the time the election season gets into full swing.>>> Not by republicans.

Diversity has validated stereotyping people. Therefore, Democrats stereotype all black people as victims. Sad but true. We’ll never get to E Pluribus Unum with diversity dragging us back into the Democrat legacy of bigotry and racism. Uh, no... all (fill in the blank) people are not alike.
And they used to be Biblical Fundamentalists.
Sure can't say that about their current politicians and community leaders though.
Out here in Trump Country, the blaks people I know who are political are more pragmatic. They expect gov’t to get things done that affect the community and daily lives and are tired of empty promises. Black or white, R or D matter less than actual results.
Old habits and group loyalties are hard to break. Trump will peel off a slice of the black votes but the vast majority will hold blind allegiance to the Dem Plantation. Same for the majority jewish vote but the ideology factor is a bit different with embracing leftism.

We all do. That’s why he’s never finished a presidential primary. Blacks better get used to Bernie.
Maybe in the area you live.
The history tells a VERY VERY VERY DIFFERENT STORY when you look at voting patterns.
I’m convinced some blacks in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania voted for Trump by simply staying home on election night.
I think the same thing is going to happen in 2016.

Having Spartacus Booker, Pajama Boy, Buttigieg, Twisted Moron, O’Rourke, False American Indian, Warren, Communist, Sanders, Groping, Biden, etc....is no way to go through political life in the land of the free and home of the brave!!! I have been to 49 states, and most large cities within. Sadly, I have seen little evidence of this. They may care, but not enough to do the tasks necessary to improve them
