Yes but for you, the wrong reason
The China tax imposed in the form of tariffs is intended to promote exports to China, not to raise revenue.
If Americans chose to pay more for the Chinese goods, nothing is accomplished except they pay the China tax. Trump called Xi’s bluff. We will now see how China reacts to being hit with strong retaliation to the unfair trade practices.

Most of those gains will be in Vietnam, Indonesia and Eastern EuropeI would say a lot of manufacturing will return here. Extra shifts, new facilities etc. Out exports will increase too. India said they will drop their tariffs on our goods.

If Americans chose to pay more for the Chinese goods, nothing is accomplished except
treasury revenue increases by $200 B annually. Fixed it for you.

To: Poison Pill

The pressure to add shifts an new facilities here will be tremendous.Companies are under pressure in the US to pay the floor sweeper $20 per hour plus benefits. They don't get that in Vietnam.

The people who are really going to benefit are Gov’t apparatchiks who have found a nice new income stream.

So, a secretive trade organization that is run by European countries that favored large corporations and crushed small companies intellectual rights. There was an awful lot wrong with TPP if you’re an American and not a member of the new world order.

(Compromise has its place. It's called second.)
To: BushCountry
So, a secretive trade organization...First of all, the Trans Pacific Partnership is a treaty, not an organization. Second, it's a treaty that the US built. Third, the signatories were: Australia, Brunei, Canada, New Zealand, Japan, US, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam. Zero Europeans were involved.
