Americans' support for impeaching Trump rises: Reuters/Ipsos poll

NEW YORK - The number of Americans who said President Donald Trump should be impeached rose 5 percentage points to 45 percent since mid-April, while more than half said multiple congressional probes of Trump interfered with important government business, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Thursday.

The opinion poll, conducted on Monday, did not make clear whether investigation-fatigued Americans wanted House of Representatives Democrats to pull back on their probes or press forward aggressively and just get impeachment over with.

The question is an urgent one for senior Democratic leaders in the House of Representatives, who are wrestling with whether to launch impeachment proceedings, despite likely insurmountable opposition to it in the Republican-controlled Senate.

In addition to the 45 percent pro-impeachment figure, the Monday poll found that 42 percent of Americans said Trump should not be impeached. The rest said they had no opinion.

It also showed that 57 percent of adults agreed that continued investigations into Trump would interfere with important government business. That included about half of all Democrats and three-quarters of all Republicans.

The Reuters/Ipsos poll was conducted online in English, throughout the United States. It gathered responses from 1,006 adults and had a credibility interval, a measure of precision, of about 4 percentage points.

Reuters, huh? A truly unbiased source - you know, just like Yahoo and CNN.

Shocking. Media creates a problem. Media talks about the problem non-stop for a month. Media polls re: the problem. Media reports the results of the poll to demonstrate how well their crisis-mongering is working.

In my everyday life, I can tell you no one cares about this.

I just like asking proponents of impeachment one simple question ... “Impeachment on what specific charges?”

They have no answer.

I wrote to my ignorant Ill-Annoy Congressional Rep begging him to move to impeach Trump as the best way to clear the air as to what really happened. I am in favor of impeachment for reasons not in common alignment with the Dems.

One thousand six. Maybe they then should be the electors for the presidency since they’re touted as being representative of all voters.

This is laughable; Reuters embarrasses itself. An online poll with only 1,006 (self-selecting?) respondents?

All within the margin of error of fluctuations.

But the vaunted counterattack is slow coming and not breaking through.

I want Cris Kahn at Reuters to know that him, his employer and the poll are bovine excrement.

On-line poll? Great. So the 45% of people who voted for Hillary also hate Trump. Big whoop.

I hope he is impeached as well, preferably during the election with what they have now. You see what it did for Klintoon. and he was actually guilty of what he was accused of.
