Texas Senate Votes to Limit Local Control Over Confederate Monuments
Dallas Observer ^ | 5/8/19 | Stephen Young

Texas Senate Republicans are tired of uppity cities like Dallas taking down monuments to the Confederacy. That's the message from the state Capitol, where the Senate voted 19-12 along strict party lines to require a two-thirds, super majority vote from any municipal government that wants to get rid of their monument to Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis or whatever other Lost Cause traitor the Daughters of the Confederacy decided to memorialize.

The libs are losing their minds. First is Dallas DA Cruezot saying he will not prosecute shoplifting crimes under $750..

The Dallas Observer is a radical left publication.

They're there to preserve history. Like back in my old stomping grounds in Rockland County, N.Y. Gov Cuomo, son of il sfaccim wants to name the new Tappan Zee Bridge after his equally corrupt father. The Tappan were a tribe that lived on the west bank of the Hudson, part of the Lenape Nation. Leave it to a phony liberal to try and remove a vestige of local Native heritage.

Ascribing "treason" to any American who understood Federalism as a voluntary choice that certainly did not terminate duty to the State of one's birth, is ridiculous. It reflects a failure to understand the very essence of Federalism, patriotism & loyalty, as well as continuity of purpose.

“uppity cities” is as far as I got or needed to read.
The entire article’s thrust is summed up nicely there.

Cool. I need some bling. Maybe make a day of it with $700 at store A, the same at store B, C and D. Maybe pick up a few cans of spray paint for those Confederate statues. /s

You know this will be the low IQ thinking.

It’s a good thing that snarky reporters are forced to say. I get a kick out of their crying tone when they have to do that. I’ve been proposing a park and museum for everything deemed politically incorrect for the sake of historical preservation.
