Somebody once told me that the term “dog and pony show” references certain...uh...sexual shows at bars in Tijuana Mexico that would involve said animals. Not sure if that is true, but the analogy would be even more appropriate when referencing the Democrat House.
My understanding of dog and pony show is that it comes from the times where entertainers would come into town and have a schict and having trained entertaining dogs and a pony who could count or do another trick or two, paid off.
The locals didnt have tv back then and it was great innocent entertainment.
