Toxic masculinityand the persistent idea that feelings are a "female thing"has left a generation of straight men stranded on emotionally-stunted island, unable to forge intimate relationships with other men. It's women who are paying the price.

Harpies are Bizzare.
Hey, I can say that I really value bible study with other men.
The Bible contains all the reasons and the solution that answers to what this silly harpy is writing so ignorantly, pridefully, and arrogantly about.
Accept Christ, and find out even further.
I guess Melanie thinks if we aren’t crying and pouring out our souls to our male friends all the time, then something is wrong with us.
I think that Melanie is probably projecting her own experiences with female friends on to men, observing that they are different, then deciding that must be because men are doing it wrong.
And again, more weaponized victimhood...from a woman. Anyone see a trend?

I disagree.
Women spend more time discussing men and relationships. That seldom makes them much more truly knowledgeable about the opposite sex.
That is why so many women go from frying pan to roaring fireplace to raging incinerator, going from one man to the next.
Wisdom about humanity historically is actually more the province of the truly intelligent and philosophical male.
Women spend more time discussing men and relationships. That seldom makes them much more truly knowledgeable about the opposite sex.
Couldn’t get past the first two words.
Men who face danger together (military, law enforcement, etc.) forge pretty intimate relationships. But they probably don’t sit around sipping wine spritzers and talking about it.
If Mama ain’t happy
Nobody’s happy
Women, Minorities hardest hit.
Straight men don’t form intimate relationships with other men.
Yep - the guy was a snowflake and the woman was a snowflake enabler...their sicknesses merged and her lack of coping skills laid her up...even as she studied for a PHD....kind of humorous.
Also, I have been surprised to find how much in the traditional, wealthy suburbs, women are still nervous about introducing their husbands (whom they don’t apparently trust to much) to single female friends.
Lots of female-only (particularly by day) and couples only (evenings and weekends) socializing that is very structured.
The husband having lost his social circle relies on his wife’s, which can include single girlfriends. And yes, I’ve seen the wary eye-balling, and learned to stay away from any double entendres on the occasion, because you’ll pay when you get home.
I guess several angles of human nature are at work here.
Maybe it’s best I didn’t learn social cues during adolescence. Looking back now, I could really have messed up my life, and had a grand time doing it.
Geeks are important to our world too!
Hell, with the advent of IT, they’re indispensable, but still geeks.
True. But so are social lubricators, if you will.
Eeeeeeewww. (Does it come in colors?)
;-)
