Men Have No Friends and Women Bear the Burden
Harpers ^ | May 2, 2019 | Melanie Hamlett

Posted on 05/07/2019 10:58:25 AM PDT by Galatians328

Toxic masculinity—and the persistent idea that feelings are a "female thing"—has left a generation of straight men stranded on emotionally-stunted island, unable to forge intimate relationships with other men. It's women who are paying the price.

So sad.
A woman must bear the burden of being married to a man.
Too bad.

A phrase that, like ‘climate change’, ‘white privilege’ and a few others lets me know I can ignore anything following.

Embrace Your Masculine Toxicity

Don’t touch any women, leave lost kids alone.
Maleness is Mafia; you’re Don Corleone.
But it’s mostly you older guys doomed, as a rule;
The snow-flaky beta males are neutered in school.

Remember when feminists destroyed all the ‘mens clubs’ back in the 70’s & 80’s?
I remember, they demanded men not be allowed to gather without the ‘guidance of women’, something about ‘equality’.
Now they are blaming men for not having what the feminists demanded be destroyed.
Go your own way young man...

Site is full of blithering idiocy
Long, emotional monologue on how terrible it was that
Jon Snow didn’t Even pet Ghost Goodbye in Game of Thrones tonight

Lots of Narcissistic Tweets

I feel contaminated just by going to the site

I can’t separate out my anti-social self, but it does seem that women keep their social networks and guys seldom create any past the school years or military.

As the song goes, “You can’t make old friends,” and once married, guys drop their male friends. But it was like that long before feminism.

What these jerks do not realize is that self-confident Alphas do not care about the feelings of woke betas and feministas.

We also don't get all weepy when someone says mean things about us.

For generations men had male only outlets where they got together to do man things with other men. Then feminists destroyed all that. No more all male colleges(though there are still all women’s schools), no more all men’s clubs, no more all boy BSA nothings they are all gone. So now that they’ve taken away every outlet for men to get together as men and interact as men, they complain that men rely too much on their GF’s and wives for emotional support. Sounds like the way the Left usually works. Destroy what works because it doesn’t fit their view of how the world should work and then bitch about the results.

Men’s friendships are formed through bonding, be it school, or the military, every one else is merely an “acquaintance”.

In today’s workplace, it’s almost impossible to develop any true friendships.

In my own personal life, thanks to Facebook, I’ve forged a lot of friendships with my high school peers, even those I really didn’t hang out with much back in the day. There is still something of a common bond there, that ties us together.

It's okay when women claim to be experts on men, but if men claim the opposite, they're accused of "mansplaining" and "patriarchy."

I would suggest that Melanie Spamlett knows as much about men as I know about Italian handbags.

That’s been my experience, with only one workplace exception.

yet another woman writer thinks men are miserable because we should want to be chicks

"I'm miserably depressed, anxious and exhausted because I can't understand why more men don't want to be like me."

Women are way more expert on men than vice versa.
I think it has to do with how much time each gender
spends thinking about the other.

Just about what I'd expect from an article written for women, by women, about men.

The quotes from men in the article must be made up. I've been a man for a long time, and I've never even heard of guys who talked like that.
