Alan Krueger, a Princeton University economist who served as a top adviser to Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, died Saturday, according to the university.
The 58-year-old committed suicide, his family said in a separate statement released by the school Monday.
“It is with tremendous sadness we share that Professor Alan B. Krueger, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and Princeton professor of economics took his own life over the weekend,” the family said. “The family requests the time and space to grieve and remember him.”
Krueger served as a Labor Department economist under Clinton, then as a top Treasury official for Obama. From 2011 to 2013, he was chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers.

I can't believe that Obama had an economic advisor! Could be that Krueger gave him sound advice but Obama went opposite. More likely that Krueger gave bad advice, and President Trump's success with the Trump economy drove Krueger to despair! Anyway, Obama was a confused idiot who had no idea how to run anything, not even successful as a junior community organizer.

Thanks for pointing that out. I thought I had read before about Krueger coming to a bad end.
As I proffered at the time this was first posted, I imagine it is really depressing to find out that very economic theory you hold had been proven wrong. Not sure how you hold your head up after admitting you were an Obama economic advisor.

Paul Kruger was one of Obama’s top go-to advisors (Kruger being a suited Marxist), as well as Rahm Emanuel’s brother Ezekiel (whose suggestions for medial care amounted to death sentences for many), and a few others, mainly far-left fools with PhD after their names.
Didn’t know anything about Krueger and now that he is gone, I could care less.
Those who served Obama served Mamon and are getting what they deserve, nice guys or not.
Sorry to be harsh on these people, but they stuck with an American-hating Marxist SOB, Obama, and by doing so, they betrayed America and its great people.
