Not really. This is just her physiology. Not that different from Michael Phelps whose body they found out doesn’t produce as much lactic acid, thus his muscles don’t fatigue as easily, giving him a clear advantage. If there was self modification involved in this fine, but it’s just what her body does, used to be called a God given advantage.

Absurd.

Why not let Michael Phelps, or any other male swimmer, compete against women. Their advantages are God-given after all?

My opposing argument is that Michael Phelps is competing for the title of the best swimmer of all. There is no “special category” to put him in.

Castor is competing not for the “best runner”, but merely for “the best runner of a group with defined handicap”, in this case, being female.

So it can make sense to define the parameters for inclusion in this lower-quality competition, so it is “fair” to the participants. We wouldn’t let a guy compete, for no reason other than the guy doesn’t meet the definition.

Now the sport has made the definition of qualification include a specific maximum testosterone level, because they have decided that THIS is what distinguishes their group, not merely “not having a penis”.

Just like the special olympics defines what qualifies you for “special” status, and if your disability doesn’t qualify, you don’t get to compete.
