Democratic State Rep. Makes Horrifying Pro-Abortion Comment ("Kill them now, or kill them later")
National Review ^ | 05/02/2019 | By ALEXANDRA DESANCTIS

During a debate in the Alabama House of Representatives over a proposed abortion ban, one Democratic representative made an astonishing remark about why he opposed the bill.

“It ought to be a woman’s choice,” said Representative John Rogers of Birmingham. “I’m not about to be a man and tell a woman what to do with her body. She has a right to make her decisions herself.” So far, a fairly standard argument in favor of the right to abortion. But Rogers didn’t stop there.

“Some kids are unwanted,” he went on. “So you kill them now or you kill them later. You bring them into the world unwanted, unloved, then send them to the electric chair. So you kill them now or kill them later.”

Alabama Senate majority leader, Republican Greg Reed, issued a statement in response to this horrific comment. “Representative Rogers’ remarks are chilling,” Reed said. “‘Kill them now, or you kill them later’? His comments should be condemned at the state and national level.”

Reed also noted that the abortion ban in question passed the Alabama House by an overwhelming 74–3 vote and said the measure will be taken up in the state senate in the next few days.

While Rogers’s defense of abortion is certainly chilling, it’s also a striking reminder of how rarely abortion-rights activists openly admit the reality of the right they are demanding. Most often, they dismiss unborn human beings as a “clump of cells” or a parasite within the mother. With his horrifying comment, Rogers has exposed those lies, admitting, as abortion defenders so rarely do, that every abortion procedure — no matter when or how it takes place — intentionally ends an innocent human life.

There was no outcry when the democrat governor proposed killing babies after they are born. There will be no outcry over this.
It’s not the woman’s body.

That’s just it, it isn’t “horrifying” nowadays.

If it was, he would have been run out of town on a rail.

It’s time we started CRIMINALIZING abortion. Give the kid a chance to live. Maybe he won’t have to be sent to “the electric chair”, as this Demonrat is implying.

Alabamians have some truly depraved Demonrats ‘representing’ the people in some places, like Birmingham the Tragic City. It’s tragic mostly because of Demonrats.

Typical socialist eugenic culture... It’s all about the ‘collective’ good of society... Their solution to poverty... Eliminate the children. Their solution to long term heath care for children with birth defects... Eliminate the children. Their solution to children with learning deficits... Eliminate the children.... Then they come for the gypsies and those who believe in any god other than the god of climate change science... It’s all part of the master plan, and only the elitist will survive to see the bright new world where the middle class is eliminated through taxation and the redistribution of wealth to the elitist.

As Michael Kinsley famously said, “A gaffe... is when a politician tells the truth — or more precisely, when he or she accidentally reveals something truthful about what is going on in his or her head.”

Is this literal “kill them later”?

Whatever can or can’t be done in that vein, adoptions should also be as easy as practical. Let children be sent from where they aren’t wanted to where they are.

RE: Is this literal “kill them later”?

I find it hard to understand how “kill them now” is literal and “kill them later” is metaphorical.

John Rogers has afflicted the Alabama legislature for many, many years. There is no limit to the depravity and stupidity that might come out of his mouth.

I puzzled a bit to figure out how, but then saw that it meant losing them in crime.

This is the problem with liberalism that knows no Savior — it’s going to beat Eeyore for gloominess.
