In the most fiery exchange so far during Attorney General William P. Barrs Senate Judiciary testimony, Sen. Lindsey Graham interrupted questioning to accuse Sen. Mazie Hirono of slandering the Justice Departments top official.
You have slandered this man from top to to bottom, Mr. Graham said. You want more of this line of questioning, you are not going to get it.
The moment came while Ms. Hirono, Hawaii Democrat, was grilling Mr. Barr with questions about allegations that President Trump sought to thwart special counsel Robert Muellers Russia probe.
But she also called Mr. Barr a liar and accused him of trying to conceal Mr. Trumps alleged misdeeds.
Being attorney general of the Untied States is a sacred trust, she said. You have betrayed that trust. America deserves better. You should resign.

“I have never seen a US Senator make an ass of herself like Hirono did, it was pathetic.”
I’m sure you are right. Unfortunately her constituents are probably still applauding her.
Thanks, good to see!
LOL! Good one, Cochran had a way with words.
The Democrat Party is going mad. They are losing. Mueller helped them win BACK the Congress, now Mueller may help Trump win again the Presidency in 2020.
I'm surprised our senior Senator was capable of reading the statement much less comprehending the meaning.
“Which is why I say again, Trump is the last president.”
As a public service, I would like to call out this example
of fevered wishful Domestic or foreign enemy thinking.
I note that it also contains zero Political Grace,
nor any Intentional Unity, whatsoever.
Carry on...

I like Hawaii. I spent a couple months on the big island.
Good.
I’m glad they do, because this woman is a total embarrassment and a complete disgrace.
I’d like to see her investigated as well, and if that turns out to be the case, revoke her citizenship and toss her in the Pacific Ocean.
In the middle.
The biggest problem , for both this State , and the nation which must put up with those that we send into elected Federal office , is that Hawaii suffers from a totally feckless , ineffective , dithering , in-fighting Republican Party . The HRP . Whereas it used to be a force and a factor , that was long ago . It has gone from one incompetent management set after another . Petty demagogues grasping to control what remains of almost non-existent power or influence . The Hawaii State Legislature is nearly void of Republican balance . Each election cycle is a complete debacle of the HRP’s total inability to find , field or support any opposition candidates . Democrat incumbents , like pinhead Hirono , hardly even need to run for office , they are automatically re-inaugurated , time after time . Only death separates an incumbent Hawaii Democrat from office ( or another up-start Hawaii Democrat...) At the same time the National RNC does just about zero to support or finance the HRP , seeing that they are beyond all hope . FUBAR. Can’t blame them. I think the only possible hope for same redemption out here is for Mr. President himself to start to directly GO AFTER these Hawaii Democrat pinheads and make them pay a terrible price for their overt disloyalty and treasonous coup collusion . Ain’t holdin my breathe.
What IF an serving U.S. Senator was found to have had a father who actively killed American soldiers ? And she had long concealed that fact ? In order to advance her political ambitions .
According to the Mueller-Weissmann report, the conflicts the president wanted McGahn to raise were conflicts arising from Mueller's law firm, Mueller's interview for the FBI director position and his personal relationship with Comey. There was also a matter of Mueller previously having demanded a refund of the membership fee he had paid to a Trump golf course and being denied.
What's very strange is how little we hear about the Mueller interview for the FBI director position. It was the very day before Mueller was appointed as special counsel! Hard to believe Rosey and Mueller had not already been mulling over a special counsel investigation and getting ready to pull the trigger.
John Dowd, the president's lawyer mentioned in an interview (IIRC) that Rosey had brought Mueller in for that interview.
But strangely, in the Mueller-Weissmann report, it cites Bannon saying this: "As for Mueller's interview for FBI Director, Bannon recalled that the White House had invited Mueller to speak to the President to offer a perspective on the institution of the FBI. Bannon said that, although the White House thought about beseeching Mueller to become Director again, he did not come in looking for the job."
Why rely on Bannon as evidence here? Mueller himself was there!!!
I think Mueller and Rosenstein are possibly legally exposed. If they misrepresented to the President the purpose of Mueller's visit and the interview with the president was really for the purpose of the imminent Special Counsel investigation, that could be a criminal act. The Bannon statement is helpful to Mueller and Rosenstein on this.
I am her constituent and I assure you I am NOT applauding .
Hirono is a terrible disgrace . It is sickening that she is the face , and the voice , that represents us.
Understood.
I didn’t mean any disrespect to you.
tomorrow? What’s tomorrow? I thought he stated he isn’t going to be question ed by the congress critters’ lawyers. How could they even have a hearing without Barr showing up?
It is still unclear.
Sometimes methinks 48 states were better than 50.
Let her swim back to Japan.
“I have never seen a US Senator make an ass of herself like Hirono did, it was pathetic.”
Hirono does it all the time.
She once said to Trump’s acting Border Patrol head agent that she was confused as to why Trump was telling them to do one thing relating to enforcement vs. what Obama was telling them to do. Trump’s acting Dir said it was his job to enforce the laws that she wrote and passed and were signed into law.
