Black National Teacher of the Year spewed hatred of America in TEDx talk to high-schoolers

On November 17, 2018, Rodney Robinson, who was just named 2019 National Teacher of the Year, spoke at a TEDx youth conference in Richmond, Virginia. Robinson, a black social studies and history teacher at a Richmond juvenile detention center, opened his remarks with a lead-in to his main topic: a racist America. If, as Sean Hannity says, "journalism is dead," after listening to Robinson, we can safely add, "Public education is dead."

There is one phrase I hate more than any other phrase in America, and I'm sure a lot of the young people in this room can relate to this phrase, and that phrase is "back in the day."

Why does the 40-year-old teacher of the year "hate" this phrase? Well, it has to do with those obnoxious parents and grandparents — you know, the ones who fought wars, raised families, went to church, and slogged off to work every day. They are full of baloney, according to Robinson, whose grade school–level prattle belies his achievement of a master’s degree. "Back in the day," Robinson jokes, they tell their kids and grandkids we didn't have "Mybook or Snapgram," and "we had to be in before the streetlights came on."

Indoctrinator at a Richmond juvenile detention center. Captive audience then? Sadly, some assclown like this, who is in a position of authori-tie, will not have much of a problem getting these 'youts' to buy in. Probably no problem at all. And the ones at 'ted-x' probably right in there being down with it too. But, it could be me just being racis'...

This country is now very very close to being a nation which worships Blacks.

Just from watching TV, one would get the impression that the country is something like 40% Black. That number also includes nothing but the smartest, best educated, and just best in every way imaginable.

At times it seems to approach 90%. It has often struck me as odd that I can sometimes scan TV channels and see absolutely nothing but Blacks.

As mentioned before, it is really getting close to worship.

Education was overtaken at the same time as the media.
Indoctrination has had a 30-40 year head start.

Public Education as has been dead for several generations now, replaced by Leftist Utopian Social Engineering.

Making much more money than me and enjoying the ability to spew hatred. And Whitey is the one accused of being racist.

Thinking back to when I was in school (a LONG time ago) it started in the early 60’s. Some of you may also recall the slow turn as you progressed through your school years.

There is a massive shortage of teachers and substitutes in this country. The bar has been lowered for some time now to include those who have no business in the classroom.

I’m not sure what you mean by “the bar” but unless you have a bachelors degree and are working towards your masters they won’t even think of hiring you.

Some districts with the state's go ahead are hiring individuals without teaching degrees not to mention teachers not working towards a masters. . . also in the mix are substitute teachers with associate degrees (two years out of high school even). Some states are trying to do away with the testing of basic skills to save money.

Pretty sure most conservatives have children and/or grandchildren attending public schools and absorbing LUSE.

Looking into the future, the trajectory mirrors Zimbabwe and South Africa. The bottom end of the Kruger-Dunning effect embodied by AOC is gaining traction. Just as Pol Pot in Cambodia killed off the educated and Mugabe killed/tortured/dispossessed the white farmers of Zimbabwe, the USA will apply that to the productive, white population. The golden goose will be killed. Rhodesia was the breadbasket of African producing an abundance of food. Zimbabwe begs for international food aid as they are incapable of producing enough food for internal consumption. The USA risks becoming a modern embodiment of "The Camp of the Saints" where whites are excluded from participation in society. At the same time, we're importing low IQ, unskilled parasites that expect to live on the government dole. The additional burden on taxpayer funded "benefits" will coincide with the loss of tax revenues from the excluded white population. That will collapse government finances.

My perspective at age 62....the demise of civilization in the US will probably occur beyond my death date. The parties that fomented the discord will be richly rewarded with the fruits of their stupidity...much as occurred in Zimbabwe. My two surviving sons will be caught up in the calamity.

I don't hold "teaching degrees" in very high esteem. I taught community college courses in embedded microprocessors over a 3 1/2 year period and succeeded in getting 91% of my students hired by DEC or IBM. I'm a software engineer by profession with a teaching credential tied to my professional occupation. My BA in Molecular Biology from Revelle College, UCSD provided me with a solid background.

My kids came home from elementary and junior high schools with papers "corrected" by the "teacher". Gag! I had to make up for the poor quality of teachers at home. My middle son ended up teaching his AP courses as the "teacher" didn't pack the gear to do it. My son and the people he tutored in the evenings achieved a "5" score on all the AP exams. He finished with a 4.33 GPA behind his girlfriend with a 4.86 GPA and valedictorian of her graduating class.

As a footnote, after serving in Iraq and Afghanistan with the USMC, my son returned home to earn a BA in Business Administration and a 2nd BA in Physics. He's a real estate broker as his primary self-employment and has a Class A CDL that he uses to drive flatbeds to earn additional income. He's fluent in English (native) and Spanish. One of those white males that is the target of the modern dumbing down movement. He doesn't have any kids at age 36, so I'm not really ever expecting to have the "grandparent" experience.

I wonder if he’s a relative of Eugene Robinson, a black racist pundit who infests many editorial pages.

I think we can all agree that there were some not-so-great things that went on “back in the day,” and nobody, but nobody, wants to return to them. Having said that, I would like to remind this guy that things were not so dark for blacks as he would like to imagine. For example, “back in the day” (1965) 75% of black babies were born to married couples. Today, 75% are born out of wedlock. “Back in the day” black musicians created some of the the finest music available, something even a white grandmother might like. Today, much black music should be offensive to anyone with even middling moral sensibilities. “Back in the day” (1970’s) I attended a majority-white but integrated high school — about 20% black — and, outside of skin color, there was no real difference in behavior or performance between black and white students. A lot of these black kids were my friends and I still keep in touch with a couple of them. “Back in the day” I worked for a Jewish jeweler in East St. Louis, Illinois. Some of my co-workers were black, and most of my customers were black. “Back in the day” there was business in ESL — my father bought two Oldsmobiles from a dealer in ESL, in the evening after work. Today, downtown ESL looks like the set for a movie about a dystopic hell. “Back in the day” I used to go into ESL any time during the day or evening and didn’t give it a second thought. The last time I was in the area, about a year ago and at night, my mind was distracted, I missed the exit I wanted, and headed on I-55 right through ESL. I prayed — really prayed — that I would get through there without taking a wrong turn along the way. I didn’t think that “back in the day,” nor did my father when he used to come home on the old MacArthur Bridge after working second shift.
