When John Barrasso, a Republican from oil and uranium-rich Wyoming who has spent years blocking climate change legislation, introduced a bill this year to promote nuclear energy, he added a twist: a desire to tackle global warming.
Mr. Barrassos remarks If we are serious about climate change, we must be serious about expanding our use of nuclear energy were hardly a clarion call to action. Still they were highly unusual for the lawmaker who, despite decades of support for nuclear power and other policies that would reduce planet-warming emissions, has until recently avoided talking about them in the context of climate change.
The comments represent an important shift among Republicans in Congress. Driven by polls showing that voters in both parties particularly younger Americans are increasingly concerned about a warming planet, and prodded by the new Democratic majority in the House shining a spotlight on the issue, a growing number of Republicans are now openly discussing climate change and proposing what they call conservative solutions.
Denying the basic existence of climate change is no longer a credible position, said Whit Ayers, a Republican political consultant, pointing out the growing climate concern among millennials as well as centrist voters two groups the G.O.P. will need in the future.

Weak sisters jumping on the bandwagon.
Any smart GOP legislator should tie their agenda when it suits them to climate change to shove it down the throats of the Democrats.
Climate glacial cold snap increasing BS going on here.
Barasso and Enzi are both Bush League Republicans in need of replacement.
“Always the dollars...always the f’ing dollars.”
Maybe he is using the climate change hysteria as a mechanism to push nuke power.
I called some leftist dimwit out on this very point about 15 years ago at a professional conference. I asked her point blank at the end of her presentation why she never once mentioned nuclear power as a carbon-free energy source. She was too busy pushing a pile of bullshit about solar power, wind power, and a bunch of other useless nonsense.
Denying the basic existence of climate change is no longer a credible position,

Everybody agrees that the climate changes, we know there have been Ice Ages repeatedly, there is no debate about that.
The proponents of man caused change are in for surprise.
The temperature of earth is controlled by the Sun as we are about to experience.
Sunspots are decreasing.
Yup, Im surprised some here dont see it.
Im hoping the Trump administration releases a report in the near future that documents the giant carbon footprint of a caravan of South Americans migrating to the U.S. compared to the smaller carbon footprint of those who stay home in their sh!t-holes.
And by so doing lends his credibility to the biggest scam of all time.
He can rot in hell alongside his good intentions.
They are basically at zero now: and it won't make much difference for a while. Might start to see effects in a decade or two if the cycles continue their downward trend. A very large volcanic explosion would also make a difference. In those cases we will be very lucky not to have summer frosts and crop losses.
AOC and Bernie may be stark raving lunatics, but their extreme socialist rhetoric has moved climate change and Medicare for all into the public discourse.
I don’t know how much global warming we’re getting but the Phoenix Arizona area just had one of the most wonderful springs ever.
Wind, solar won't cut it. Storage capacity isn't there. They are horrible for the environment because of the foot print required and wind turbines have their own effect on local climate and, of course, birds.
I agree 100%. If the NYT were smart, they would bash this as a cynical attempt to ride the wave of climate change to pursue his “evil plans.” But they are blinded by their ideology, so they swallow this uncritically...
I refuse to give into this insanity. People that believe this hoax are stupid, liars or insane.
Those are democrats.
Don’t be confused, just because they are.

This whore, Ayers, should be driven out of town.
