That is not a response to the reality of what I said.

The spread of socialism / communism in our own hemisphere and allowing our enemies a base of operations in our own backyards is a problem for all of us. How we deal with it is a matter of debate, but arguing it can’t and doesn’t affect us is simply not reality.

Screw this guy and screw his mustache to infinity.

He needs to be NOWHERE near this. We have no need for such an foreign entanglement as this.

The reality is, Communists only give up power when you shoot them.

In case you were not aware, the regime already changed - constitutionally and legally

Good. More reason for us to stay out of it and focus on our many many problems at home. If we need to meddle in a foreign country, it should bevmexico, which is still allowing tens of thousands of illegals to come to and through our border. Absolutely incredible that Bolton is fixated on Venezuala when it’s Mexico that’s shipping illegals, drugs and crime here big time

Is the government - police, army, bureaucrats - less corrupt in Mexico than Venezuala? Why don’t we clean up Mexico first - when they’re shipping drugs and crime north, and importing their poorest to take our low skilled jobs away from Americans?

We will eventually invade and occupy Mexico, only a matter of “when”.

1. Russian Navel and air bases:
There is no permanent deployment of Russian assets in Venezuela. Russian aircraft occasionally transit there, but they are tracked every inch of the way. And there are no large scale ordnance depots.
2. Russian subs routinely operating in the Caribbean:
They do that now, without Venezuelan bases. They’re called nukes and they patrol the eastern seaboard, with at least one on station 7x24x365.

Now, if they were make permanent stationing there that would be cause to run them out.

But that’s not what’s happening.

It’s nothing at all like how we have surrounded Russia with combat and strategic assets. Not even close.

I contend you have put up a straw man.

Why should we care about what happens in Venezuela?

^ This + 1. Sometimes ones highest and best use is to be an example to others. Anyone with 2 functioning brains cells knew this would be the ultimate end. Now these mental midgets are fighting over whether a full blown Marxist communist runs the failed state or if a not yet full blown Marxist communist runs the failed state. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. I do not want to own this mess.

I’ll wait to hear what the talking heads have to say. If this happened 10 years ago, I wonder how they would treat it. Oh, we’d be supporting Chavez, and Hillary would be there with him with her normal $#!t eating grin telling us everything there was under control. ????

The people of Venezuela are starving.

The socialist leaders of Venezuela are getting fat.

The Cubans are in Venezuela to help the socialist leaders continue to starve the Venezuelan people and enrich the socialist leaders.

That is just murder in slow motion.

The murderous Cubans need to go home and then let’s see how things go in Venezuela.

And yes, they can take the murderous Russians, Chinese and Iranians with them.

It’s not just Mexico - the illegal immigrants come from Central America and are just passing through Mexico from the Socialist countries to the South. Mexico was letting them pass through as long as they promised to keep on moving. Thanks to Trump, Mexico even tried to stop them, offering them employment, housing, etc., And finally attempting to stop them on the southern border of Mexico.

It didn’t work because there are simply too many and they have funding from the international left and the criminal gangs that make a living off them.

But mostly, they won’t stop coming until the Socialist regimes - particularly Maduro (VZ), Raul Castro (Cuba), and Ortega (Nicaragua) - have been wiped out. That’s why they’ve got to go. This is endangering the US.

The very same argument was used for a little war in Indo-China. No sale.

You’re very easy on Mexico. By the way, it’s also a socialist country. And full of criminal corruption.

Best for VZ to settle this. Why? Because the US is will get entangled in yet another foreign war? Not really. If we were to invade VZ it would not take much to topple Maduro. That is if we limited scope to toppling Maduro with no nation building.

No the reason we should not intervene is because we really need the world to see VZ itself overthrow communism rather than seeing the US seen install a puppet. We need VZ as a world lesson.

However if Trump were to invade VZ I’m not too worried about the outcome. But best to let VZ itself get it done.

“” “” Are you serious? You like the idea of Russian naval and air bases in Cuba and Venezuela? Are you OK with Russian submarines routinely operating in the Carribean just a short missile flight away?”” “”

What exactly is wrong with that? You can trust US government not to grant Russians basing rights on US soil.

As for Cuba or Venezuela or Mexico it is up to them to decide. Some great leaders said that the time of zones of influence are over.

It is not for the Russians to decide do they have US Marines on their border or not. It was stated by US officials of all ranks more that once that these issues are the exclusive business of Russian neighbors. Why is it for Americans to decide about who are on US borders? Reciprocity is the major principle of foreign affairs. Let neighbors decide.

Bolton is brilliant. I read his book “No Surrender.” Thankfully, he is working with Trump.

Problem: China is controlling Venezuela and supporting Maduro.

Solution: Tough one. Kick out the Chinese. Send American business students to run industries in Venezuela for ten years.

The same was said about every ‘little victorious war’ by neocons.
The official propaganda in Venezuela states that all the problems are due to US sanctions and sabotage. It doesn’t mention Maduro and socialism as the reasons.

These statements are actually corresponding with US official statements. No less than half of the people if not more believe it. People who aren’t mostly left already.

To think they would universally welcome foreign invasion and by the power which is allegedly behind their sores is a naively surpassing Iraqi proportion.
Once again nothing I know about Guiado indicates he is any better than Maduro. Guiado is a Communist rebranded Socialist which is not saying much. The fact that he is backed by the CIA and Deep State doesn’t say he is a good guy.

Let the Venezuelans fix their problems themselves. Any other approach is costly and you would own the result and all the hatred generated by that result.

Have some obscure CIA contractor AIR DROP a few thousand of the AK47s we harvested from the Middle East and a few MILLION ROUNDS of ammo and let these folks go for it just as we did in 1776.
BUT NO AMERICAN BOOTS IN THERE WITHOUT A FORMAL DECLARATION OF WAR BY UNANIMOUS RECORDED VOTE IN CONGRESS!
